Team Ninja has announced that Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, the anticipated sequel to the 2023 action-soulslike, will launch on March 4, 2027. The game is set to be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Notably, it will be included day one with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
In conjunction with the release date announcement, a free playable alpha demo is available now for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This demo is a limited-time offering, accessible only until September 30. Players who participate in the demo can test an in-progress character creator and experience online multiplayer for up to three players. The demo allows exploration of the Changban region, where players can join Liu Bei's forces in battles against Cao Cao's army and confront demons inspired by Chinese mythology.
Completing the demo will reward players with the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet, a cosmetic item for use in the full release of Wo Long 2. The original Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, released in early 2023, was well-received, praised for its melee combat and ranked among the top soulslike games.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember was initially revealed during this year's Xbox Showcase.
