Microsoft has revealed the pricing and release date for its limited edition Xbox Series X console, celebrating the company's 25th anniversary. The console, featuring a translucent green design reminiscent of the original Xbox, will be available for $899.99 and is set to release on November 13. Pre-orders are scheduled to open on August 27 at 7 AM PDT.
This special edition bundle includes the Xbox Series X console, a matching controller, and a complimentary copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved. The controller can also be purchased separately starting October 20 for $79.99.
While the $799.99 price point for a standard Xbox Series X with a disc drive remains, this anniversary console adds $100 to the cost but includes one of the year's prominent Xbox titles. The announcement comes as Microsoft has previously confirmed that details regarding its next console, codenamed Project Helix, will be shared later this year. Speculation suggests a potential release window around fall 2027, a period Microsoft has indicated will be significant for the company. Additionally, Microsoft has unveiled plans for a disc-to-digital feature, enabling users to acquire digital versions of their physical Xbox One and Xbox Series X games, which is seen by some as preparation for a future shift towards more digital-focused next-generation hardware.
