Material Crates in Marvel's Wolverine are essential collectibles for players aiming to unlock all available suits. These suits not only alter Wolverine's appearance but also provide a welcome health boost. This guide details the locations of every Material Crate across the game's various environments.

Canada

The missions set in Canada offer a significant number of Material Crates to discover:

Homecoming

Two Material Crates are encountered as part of the main story progression while assisting Walter.

The One That Got Away

This mission features four Material Crates:

  • One is located between large wooden crates to the left after ziplining and engaging in combat with Reavers.
  • A second crate can be found in the sewer tunnel beneath a damaged warehouse, past the point where Logan hears Reavers discussing a captive.
  • A third crate is situated by a painting on an easel in the woods to the right of the Nightmare Door.
  • The fourth crate is found atop a crane at the docks.

Raise Some Hell

Players can find four Material Crates in this mission:

  • The first is on the edge of a cliff to the left after jumping a gap in the snowy forest leading to the refinery.
  • Early in the mission, after jumping a gap toward the refinery, stay at ground level and follow the water to a dead end where the second crate is located.
  • Near the 'take out the reaver guards' objective in the refinery's exterior, look for a trailer with icicles; the crate is beside it against a fence.
  • The final crate is inside a truck near the stairs past the Nightmare Door, after unlocking the Hot Claws ability.

Strays

This mission contains a single Material Crate, found in the suit-up corridor while searching for Leech's drawings.

Something Much Stronger

Four Material Crates are available during this mission:

  • On the path to the cabin, look for a waterfall and turn right to find a tree; the crate is on a ledge above it.
  • Halfway across a large fallen tree on the path to the cabin, look left to find the chest on a small island.
  • After finding the previous chest, a path splits. Instead of going left, follow the path right to the fishing hut where the chest is located.
  • The final crate can be found to the right of the cabin before entering it.

Madripoor

Several Material Crates are hidden within the missions taking place in Madripoor:

Knock Knock

Two Material Crates can be located during the 'Knock Knock' mission:

  • The first is behind the desk upon entering the power station after Sabertooth crashes an APC through the wall.
  • En route to destroying the core, interact with a grate in the wall to find the second crate inside.

Mutant Detected

This section contains four Material Crates:

  • At the mission's start, behind the desk beneath the 'Trask Industries' sign.

  • After defeating Trask's forces and discovering his location in Bay 7, proceed through the door Mystique opens; the crate is to the far right.

One Last Mission

Three Material Crates are available in 'One Last Mission':

The missions in Japan contain the largest number of Material Crates:

Get Angry

Five Material Crates are scattered throughout this initial Japan mission:

  • While searching for Jean by locating the three arcades, find the 'Smash.Compete' shop and check the alley behind it.
  • Upon exiting the elevator inside the bar from Jean's vision, the crate is to your right.
  • After breaking the first set of incense burners in the first illusion, exit the rooms and look right for the crate behind some wooden shipping boxes.
  • During the section where Jean hears cries for help and Logan swings between bars, at the end of this section on top of the metal structure, turn around to find the crate against the wall.
  • After finding the Telepath and ascending via elevator, the crate is in the first room, behind some metal shelves.

Bad Blood

Four Material Crates can be found during 'Bad Blood', with two notable ones in the construction site outside Shiro's building:

  • Behind some crates on the rooftop before crossing to Shiro’s building.
  • When initially blocked from Shiro’s building entrance, face away from it; the crate is on the scaffolding to the right.
  • While climbing to Shiro’s penthouse through a construction site, follow the scent trail near a Hand statue downwards to find a crate on the level below.
  • After Jean lifts Logan onto a platform that subsequently breaks, turn back towards the construction site; the crate is to the right.

In the Shadows

This mission features seven Material Crates:

  • Enter the arcade from the street and proceed down the stairs; the crate is at the bottom. An arrow points to a crate to the left at the bottom of some stairs.
  • Exit the arcade, turn right, then head straight up the street. At the street corner with the skeleton eating noodles sign, turn right again. Near a building with a dinosaur head, turn right once more; Logan should detect the crate on the roof.
  • On the roof to the left of the rooftop powerbox for a mutant detector.
  • On the roof to the left of a cluster of detectors. The rooftop behind this has a large dinosaur structure.
  • Located next to a digger truck at the base level of the construction site hideout, to the left of where the noodle truck drops Logan off.
  • After passing through a short tunnel while catching up to Walter, the crate is at the tunnel's end to the left of a shrine.
  • On the rooftop situated beneath the zipline as Wolverine makes his way back to Shiro’s after an argument with Jean.

Death Comes to Death

Three Material Crates are available in 'Death Comes to Death':

  • On the roof to the left immediately upon the mission's start, after speaking with Shiro.
  • To the right, beneath a large pipe, after viewing the security footage.
  • To the right of the elevator after exiting the steam room.

We Were Wrong

Players can find five Material Crates in this mission:

  • While following drag marks, the crate is behind an Alchemax truck.
  • After gaining entry to the restaurant, the crate is on the ledge above the main stage, initially surrounded by Hand members.
  • When tracking the Hand mutant, head left from an overturned car (after assisting an injured woman) to find the crate in an alley.
  • Following an ambush, upon entering a construction site, the crate is behind a truck to the left as soon as you step over the broken wall.
  • At the bottom of the stairs leading down to the basement. An arrow points to a chest behind a yellow truck

Hell Followed With Him

Four Material Crates are waiting to be found during this mission:

  • At the end of the forest, on a ledge to the right when facing the cliff wall.
  • Behind the building directly to the left upon starting exploration of the stronghold.
  • To the right of the memorial, at the top of the stairs.
  • Directly to the left upon entering the Shrine. An arrow points to a crate marker behind a building

Sinister Tidings

This mission contains a single Material Crate, located inside Shiro’s closet secret room. It can be acquired just after Logan's interaction with Essex in the bathroom mirror.
