Beast of Reincarnation features a series of formidable bosses that players must overcome to progress. This guide provides strategies for defeating Nue Malefact, Taurus, Rangifer, and Lacerta, detailing their attack patterns, weaknesses, and recommended tactics.

Defeating Rangifer

Rangifer, a deer-like malefact, serves as the first major boss in Beast of Reincarnation. The fight occurs in two parts: an initial encounter at the beginning of the journey, followed by a more challenging second encounter in its lair. The second fight consists of two phases, with the latter phase imbuing Rangifer with blight, increasing its speed and attack power.

Rangifer is weak to Fire-element attacks. Players can utilize Koo's Higabana Seeds Bloom Art. Initiating the fight with a dive attack from above, using Emma's hair as a bridge, can deal significant initial damage. The Horn Swipes attack presents an opportunity to restore FP by slowing time with the Entanglement Gauge. When Rangifer retreats, its weak points can be exploited with the Crossbow or Zangetsu Bow.

Key moves include Horn Swipes, which can be parried for FP recovery; Rock Throw, avoidable by sidestepping or dodging backward; Lunge, telegraphed by red glowing spots on the ground; and Trail of Branches, which sprouts from the ground and can be avoided by moving to the side. During the blighted phase, Rangifer's attacks become faster, but its moveset remains the same.

Defeating the Level 9 Rangifer yields Rangiferine Memories, unlocking the Nushi Skill: Sakura Storm. The Level 12 Rangifer drops the Sakura Javelin Bloom Art and Blade Art: Sakura.

Overcoming Lacerta

Lacerta, a newt-like malefact, is the second boss encountered in Chapter 2. Similar to Rangifer, the fight is split into two encounters, with the second encounter featuring two phases and Lacerta imbuing itself with blight for increased aggression.

Lacerta is susceptible to Shock-element attacks. Recommended tools include the Thunderwave Sword, Koo's Sakura: Javelin Bloom Art, and Bolt Shards equipped to Koo. The Mouth Snap combo is a primary opportunity for parrying and restoring FP for Bloom Arts. The Tail Swipe can also be parried. When Lacerta uses its AoE Explosion, players should move out of range and use ranged attacks. The Underground Lunge attack requires dodging or running away, as Lacerta cannot be damaged while submerged.

During its final phase, Lacerta's attacks become faster due to blight. A specific lunge attack, telegraphed by purple smoke, can be parried. The Swamp Summons attack may see Lacerta summoning smaller versions of itself, which Koo can handle while the player focuses on the main boss.

Lv. 13 Lacerta drops Lacertine Memories, unlocking Nushi Skill: Dokuzeri Shower. Lv. 16 Lacerta yields Dokuzeri: Fang and Blade Art: Dokuzeri.

Confronting Nue Malefact

Nue Malefact appears multiple times throughout the game, with significant encounters in Chapter 3. In the ultimate Chapter 3 fight, Nue Malefact is joined by the Male Purifier. Both bosses have separate health bars, but Nue Malefact does not gain a second health bar in this particular encounter.

Nue Malefact is weak to Poison attacks. Equipping Amber: Poison Fang to Koo, the Hunter's Sword to Emma, and utilizing Dokuzeri Blade Arts and Bloom Arts is advised. Nue Malefact's Hand Swipe combo can be parried to restore FP. Both Nue Malefact and the Male Purifier deal Flame and Shock damage, making resistance-boosting items or status effect cleansing mods useful. Ranged attacks with the Crossbow or Zangetsu Bow, especially Poison Arrows, can deal damage when bosses are at a distance.

Nue Malefact's moveset includes Tail Swipe, Hand Swipe, Lunge (indicated by a glowing red mouth), Tail Root, and Projectile Seeds. During its third Chapter 3 encounter, it gains an attack where it conjures lightning bolts, requiring players to dodge away. The Male Purifier's attacks include Fiery Whip, Helm Splitter (summoning a ground branch for an AoE dive), and Lifesteal, where it drains Nue Malefact's health to restore its own.

During the final Chapter 3 fight, bosses alternate turns, and the camera tracks the active attacker, providing temporary respite from the other. When the Male Purifier reaches half HP, it begins its Lifesteal, allowing for healing or ranged damage.

Drops from Nue Malefact include Ursine Memories and Erymathian Memories, unlocking specific skills and Bloom Arts. The final Chapter 3 encounter drops Nushi Skill: Chimeric Flow.

Challenging Taurus

Taurus, a bull-like malefact, is encountered in Chapter 4. The fight involves two encounters, with the second fight in its lair featuring two phases and the addition of Golem enemies.

Taurus is weak to Acid-element attacks. Equipping the Corrosive Fang Skill Amber and Bottles of Acid to Koo is recommended. In the first encounter, grappling to the bridge above Taurus and performing a Death from Above attack deals significant damage. Ranged combat with elemental arrows is effective due to Taurus's tendency to gallop.

Its moveset includes Projectile Bombs from its tail, Piercing Branches that emerge from the ground, Horn Swipes (which can be parried for FP), Lunge (requiring dodges or evasion), and Horn Charge. The second fight introduces Golems, which can be stunned with a Bind Bloom Art, allowing players to focus on clearing them out quickly with Blade Arts. During its second phase, Taurus becomes blighted, increasing attack speed and combo length, especially for its horn swipe attack.

Lv. 26 Taurus drops Taurean Memories, unlocking Nushi Skill: Charging Botan. Lv. 29 Taurus yields Botan: Chase Bloom Art and Blade Art: Botan.
