Memory chips are essential collectibles in Beast of Reincarnation, serving as a key component for unlocking and upgrading various ship features. These green mechanical skull-shaped items are found scattered across different zones, and accumulating enough allows you to increase the Bauera's Knowledge attribute. This attribute directly impacts upgrades for the Bow, Spring Thunder, Crossbow, Arrows, and Bolts.
When embarking on your search for these valuable chips, consider unlocking Koo's "Detect Hidden Item" skill early on. This ability proves invaluable for spotting memory chips and other hidden spoils.
Ogouchi Buffer Zone
Six memory chips are hidden within the Ogouchi Buffer Zone. While some can be encountered during the main quest, thorough exploration is required to find them all. You can locate chips inside strongboxes, beside rusted golems, and within buildings like those found in Subcity 01.
Ancient Civilization Zone
Similar to the Ogouchi Buffer Zone, the Ancient Civilization Zone contains six memory chips. Many of these are conveniently located near key points of the main quest, minimizing the need for extensive detours. Specific locations include areas near the Raging River camp, by the elevator used for power supply, and within a strongbox south of the Shopping Mall camp.
The Great Wall Terraces
Six more memory chips await discovery in The Great Wall Terraces. These can be found on the east side of the Rusted Bridge, near the Great Fores Clearing camp, within a house north of the Ruined Road Square camp, and inside a strongbox within a container near the Flower Field Tower camp.
Pilgrim's Zone
Exploration is crucial in the Pilgrim's Zone, as some memory chips are situated in more remote locations away from the main quest path. Look for chips within a locked strongbox in a cave tent, inside an iron box in a house within the bell-searching cave, on the body of a rusted golem at the Stone Chamber entrance, inside a strongbox on the west map wall, and within a strongbox guarded by golems in the bell room.
Matsukawa
With the memory chips from Matsukawa, you will be close to maxing out the Bauera's Knowledge attribute. Seek out chips inside an iron box on a platform near a tall building northeast of the Ruins Approach camp, from a rusted golem atop a building en route to the Matsukawa Colony, inside a strongbox in a container northwest of the Cave Entrance camp, and within a strongbox near the Ruins: Outskirts camp.
Fuji Frontier Zone
By this point, collecting all memory chips from previous maps should have allowed you to reach the maximum level of Knowledge. However, several chips remain, including one inside a strongbox ahead of the Collapsed Pipes: Approach camp, another behind a large statue near the Defense Outpost: Interior camp, two alongside the remains of a rusted golem southwest of the Defense Outpost: Interior camp, and two more in front of a large rusted golem before the final arena.
Giant Tree
There are two memory chips in the Giant Tree zone, both found later in the chapter. You can acquire these from a rusted golem near the second Nushi's lair, accessible via the Line 2 tram.
Crater Zone
The Crater Zone offers one memory chip. While you may not need it for Knowledge upgrades, it is still valuable as it converts to amber.
Inukami River Zone
As one of the final areas, the Inukami River Zone presents a last opportunity to collect several memory chips. Locate three chips in an iron box near the cleanse walker, one in a strongbox near a golem in the tram area, another in a strongbox west of the tram's final area, and a final chip within a strongbox on the northern side of the map.
Starfall Tower
In the short Starfall Tower zone, a single memory chip can be found. Upon reaching the In Front of the Lab camp, look inside a building on the nearby wall to find a strongbox containing the chip.
The Capital
In the game's final zone, The Capital, any collected chips will convert into amber for gear improvement. Nevertheless, two chips are available here: one from the remains of a rusted golem near the zone's first objective, and another inside a strongbox west of the Urban Area: Ingress camp.
