Emma and Koo's journey in Beast of Reincarnation reaches its penultimate stage in Chapter 12, titled "The Capital." This chapter sees the protagonists finally confronting the titular Beast of Reincarnation, but not before navigating a complex urban environment and defeating several formidable bosses. This guide provides a walkthrough of the chapter's progression and offers strategies for its key encounters.
Entering The Capital
Upon arriving in The Capital after departing the Cleanse Walker, players will find a Campsite near a watery corridor. The initial objective is to head towards this location. Before reaching the visible Campsite across a bridge, descend the left staircase to find a Dragon Vein Shrine. After clearing the bridge of salamander malefacts, players can collect the Sewage Works: Ingress Campsite. Adjacent to this, an unlocked Strongbox holds the God Tree Guard armor.
Proceed up the staircase near the Campsite and follow the linear path, dealing with hostile Golems. The Sewage Works: Interior Campsite is the next landmark. Be prepared for invisible Golems in this area; attacking quickly or using Bloom Arts will reveal them. After this, players will reach an elevator, which should be ridden upwards. Continue through the laboratory corridors, dispatching Golems and Purifiers, until another elevator is found, leading to the Water Plant: Interior Campsite.
Urban Exploration and First Boss
Beyond the Water Plant: Interior Campsite, players must traverse another room and bridge, clearing Golems to reach the Urban Area: Ingress Campsite. Ascend the stairs and turn right to discover another Dragon Vein Shrine. This marks the final Dragon Vein Shrine in the game, bringing the total to 40. Collecting these shrines provides essential Stimpacks.
Continue towards the objective, clearing enemies, until the Urban Area: Interior Campsite is reached. Following this, a gauntlet of Golems must be defeated to unlock a gate. Pass through the gate and use the subsequent elevator to progress. The Urban Area: Monitor Room lies ahead, and shortly after, the first boss of Chapter 12, Level 48 Erymanth, will be encountered.
Erymanth, a larger boar-like malefact, is not overly challenging despite the confined space. Its moveset mirrors that of other boar malefacts. Erymanth is weak to Impact damage, making Botan Blades and Bloom Arts effective. FP can be restored for Koo's Bloom Arts during Erymanth's tusk swipes, both quick and spinning variants. This is a two-phase fight requiring careful management of Stimpacks and utilization of Koo's healing Bloom Arts.
Upon defeating Erymanth, players receive the Kiku: Bloom Strike 2 Bloom Art and the Finisher: Kiku Blade Art. The objective then shifts to finding a medical pod for Kagura. Follow the main path through a large corridor and stay left to find the medical pod, triggering a cutscene.
Confronting the Administrator and Kunai
After tending to Kagura, exit the room and proceed north through a newly opened bulkhead door. A transmission will play, halting progress until its completion. Once the transmission ends, another bulkhead door to the north will open, leading to the Administrator's Chambers: Approach Campsite. Beyond this, players will confront the Administrator.
After dialogue, the Administrator summons a Golem and a large mech, which should be manageable. The true challenge begins as the Administrator calls upon Kunai and her Kirin Malefact for a Level 49 boss fight.
Kunai's attacks are similar to Shidou's, featuring a spinning, Shock-element arm attack and Shock-element projectiles from her blade. The Kirin Malefact, while having some unique moves, presents familiar challenges. It can inflict the Slow status effect with mud puddles, which should be avoided. Both are weak to the Poison-element; utilizing the Hunter's Sword, Dokuzeri Blade/Bloom Arts, Poison Arrows for Emma, and the Poison Fang Skill Amber for Koo is recommended. Kunai's Shock-element damage can be mitigated with Lightning Resistance armor. Parry opportunities for FP restoration include Kunai's sword/projectile combos, her thorny whip arm attack, and Kirin's horn swipe.
This boss encounter has a single phase; defeating both Kunai and the Kirin Malefact concludes the fight. The reward for this victory is the Kirin Memories item, unlocking Blade Art: Thunder and the Numasugi: Skewer Bloom Art. Interacting with the sword by Kagura's bed reveals Kunai's farewell gift: the Camellia sword.
Towards the Beast of Reincarnation
With these encounters concluded, players must proceed toward the final objective: the Beast of Reincarnation. Fast-travel to the Administrator's Chambers: Approach Campsite and head north on the map. Approaching this area marks the conclusion of Chapter 12, setting the stage for the ultimate battle in Chapter 13. Detailed strategies for this final confrontation can be found in the game's boss guides.
