Following the challenges of the Ogouchi Buffer Zone, players of Beast of Reincarnation will find Emma and Koo facing new threats in the Ancient Civilization Zone. This chapter introduces more verticality and requires mastery of Emma's unique traversal abilities to navigate the ruined Kanto Region.
Early Explorations and the Reservoir Path
The journey begins in the Ancient Civilization Zone with players needing to find generators to power a crucial gate and pursue an out-of-control Nushi. The initial steps involve moving through ruins, engaging flying Corvid Malefacts with bows or crossbows. Along the path, a metal tower offers a Homing Shot Spirit Stone, beneficial for ranged combat. Further on, players will encounter Golems and more Corvid Malefacts, which may fight each other if given the opportunity.
Players should also seek out Dragon Vein Shrines, new collectibles that grant a Dragon's Favor, increasing Stimpack capacity. Across a ravine, a Keeper Golem can be reached using Emma's hair bridge. Interacting with this Golem can reveal the location of Potato Seedlings or an elite wolf Malefact. After this, a bridge to the right leads to the Ruins Path Camp, where a control console can activate a nearby gate. Players can then use a lift to descend to the opened gate.
An optional challenge involves an Elite Lupine Malefact located east of the Ruins Path Camp, accessible via a grapple spot. This enemy is vulnerable to Flame Arrows and has an unblockable pouncing leap. Defeating it yields the Skill Amber: Blinding Fang.
Inside the gate, players will face a group of Golems, including an Elite Enemy. Strategic use of Emma's hair bridge or crouching in nearby flowers can allow for aerial stealth takedowns. Looting the defeated Golems provides a Facility Module, useful for upgrading Bauera. Continuing through the area leads to a descent into what appears to be an old Tokyo metro station. Here, players can find Electronic Brains from a rusted Golem and proceed to a larger room where an Ancient Golem informs them of the need to activate two generators.
Activating the Generators
The quest for the generators involves two paths, one to the north and one to the west. The western path, explored first in this guide, leads deeper into the metro station. After ascending stairs and taking a lift, players will encounter rat Malefacts, which drop the Golem Censer for Koo. The flooded room contains Globe Golems, vulnerable to ranged attacks, followed by ground-based Golems. A Strongbox and the western generator are found at the back of this room.
The northern generator path starts at the Raging River Camp. After dealing with a salamander Malefact and Golems across the river, players can acquire the Momentum Spirit Stone, boosting attack for both characters. Inside a door, the Tunnel Ruins: Interior Camp is found. Players must then defeat a Giant Golem, an Elite Enemy with powerful, unblockable strikes and laser attacks. Lightning damage is effective against this foe.
Upon defeating the Giant Golem, a new character, Kunai, appears and grants Emma the Nushi Skill: Biting Tempest. Players then find a Strongbox containing a Thick Cuirass and proceed into an overgrown section of the metro station filled with Golems.
Confronting Lacerta and Gate Controls
To proceed, players must defeat seven Golems in a gauntlet, including an Elite Enemy. After this, the path opens to the Shopping Mall Camp. Here, Rusted Sparking Golems, which explode on approach, must be dealt with by shooting them from a distance. An Electronic Brain and more Rusted Sparking Golems are encountered before reaching the Platform Entrance Camp.
Entering a green-lit hole leads to a flooded area with destroyed train cars and patrolling Golems. The northern generator can be activated here, and a Strongbox nearby contains valuable items like Memory Chips and a Facility Module.
Returning to the area where both generators need to be placed, players enter a gate and proceed to the reservoir. The Nushi Lacerta, a Level 13 Malefact, is located here. Its unblockable attack involves spitting plants from the mud, requiring dodges. Most other attacks can be parried. Lacerta can also jump into the water and summon smaller salamander Malefacts. Poison effects may occur, and lightning damage is its weakness.
After defeating Lacerta, it flees. Following it leads to a large hole. Players can find a Facility Module near a damaged Cleanse Walker before retracing their steps to find the gate controls, located west of the Reservoir: Interior Camp. A lore message titled "Yearning for the Surface" on a dead Golem provides a clue: Lighting Stones are needed to power the control panel.
Powering the Gate and the Final Encounter
To obtain the Lighting Stones, players can fast travel to the Raging River Camp and head to the Ancient Golem merchant. This triggers a cutscene where Mikoto, a new character, is fighting a fast-moving Golem Elite Enemy with an electric sword. Binding the enemy with Koo and using the Biting Tempest skill helps in defeating it, rewarding players with a Lightning Stone and the Thunderwave Sword.
Mikoto offers stat respeccing services via phone contact once players return to Bauera. With the Lightning Stone, players can return to the Reservoir: Interior Camp and activate the gate controls.
Players then pursue Lacerta again, climbing spiral stairs and saving at the Ruins Slope: Approach Camp. New enemies, Trapper Golems, which lay glowing traps, and a Corvid Malefact Elite Enemy can be encountered. A Strongbox contains the Garb of Tranquility. The Nushi's Lair Entrance Camp offers a merchant before the final boss room. It is recommended to equip the Thunderwave Sword and Lightning Arrows.
Lacerta returns as a Level 16 threat. Its attacks are similar, with the addition of an unblockable burrowing bite attack and a five-hit combo. In its second phase, it uses poison projectiles and creates poison zones. Maintaining distance and using Lightning Arrows is key to victory. The fight rewards Emma with the Blade Art: Dokuzeri and Koo with the Dokuzeri: Fang Bloom Art. After the battle, cutscenes reveal further plot details regarding Violet.
