Players in Beast of Reincarnation can alter their character builds through a respec system and unlock a more powerful evasion technique. Both abilities are crucial for adapting to the game's challenges and optimizing character growth.
Unlocking the Respec Ability
The ability to respec skills and attributes becomes available late in Chapter 2. Players must progress through the main story until they reach the quest "Power the Gate." After rescuing a character named Mikoto from an elite enemy, he will become available. Upon returning to the Cleanse Walker, the Communicator on the wall will be unlocked. Using this Communicator allows players to call Mikoto and select the "Reset Attributes" option.
Respecing refunds all spent Attribute Points and Skill Points for either Emma or Koo. This allows players to reallocate them to different base stats or unlock new abilities. The cost for respecing is based on the number of Attribute points invested, with each point costing 100 Amber. Skill points are refunded regardless of the Amber cost for attributes. While Amber may be a consideration, players often accumulate a significant amount, making respecing a relatively inexpensive way to experiment with different builds.
Unlocking the Roll Dodge
The Roll Dodge ability can be unlocked by progressing along the blue path of Emma's Skill tree. This path is associated with Emma's Florescence attribute. To unlock Roll, players must first invest in the Tracking Shot Skill, upgrading it to at least Level 2. This upgrade requires Emma to have a Florescence attribute level of at least 9. Additionally, the Roll Skill is an offshoot of the Lucky Shot Skill, which must also be unlocked prior to Roll.
The total Skill Point cost to unlock Roll is 60 SP, with prerequisite upgrades for Tracking Shot and Lucky Shot. Once unlocked, players can perform a Dodge Roll by double-tapping the evade button or key. The default controls are 'B' on controller and 'CTRL' on keyboard.
The Roll Dodge covers significantly more distance than a standard evade, making it ideal for creating space to heal, use ranged attacks, or strategize. However, it has a slight delay due to the double-tap input, making standard evades more responsive for immediate counter-attacks against unblockable red attacks. The Roll is best suited for repositioning and creating distance.
