Following the defeat of Ursa in Starfall Tower, players of Beast of Reincarnation will advance to the Mount Hiei Zone as part of Chapter 11, titled Budding Realisation. This relatively short and linear area serves as the penultimate step before confronting the Beast of Reincarnation itself, requiring players to overcome the final threats in their path.
Advancing Through Mount Hiei
Upon exiting the Cleanse Walker, players will find themselves back in the Mount Hiei Zone, an area familiar to those who completed the game's tutorial. The initial progression involves defeating several salamander malefacts, followed by boar and bear malefacts. The journey through this section is largely straightforward, utilizing Emma's hair abilities to clear enemies as you move forward towards the Nushi's Lair Entrance Campsite. Along the way, players will be alerted to a race against time to escape a spreading blight.
Defeating the Nushi
The Mount Hiei Zone culminates in a boss encounter at the Nushi's Lair. Here, players will face a familiar duo: the Nue Malefact and the Male Purifier, Shidou, both at Level 48. Their shared weakness to the Poison element remains a critical factor for this sixth encounter. The boss pair's moveset is unchanged from previous encounters, allowing players to leverage their accumulated knowledge for this fight.
To effectively combat Nue Malefact and Shidou, players are advised to utilize Poison-element attacks, such as the Hunter's Sword, Poison Arrows, and Koo's Poison Fang Skill Amber. Weapons and abilities that inflict Poison build-up, like the Dokuzeri Blade and Bloom Arts, are also highly recommended. Both enemies deal Physical and Flame damage, making armor with resistance to these elements beneficial. Key attacks to parry include the Nue Malefact's paw and tail swipes, as well as Shidou's sword combo and his thorny whip attack. Successful parries can restore FP, enabling the use of Bloom Arts.
The fight features a single phase, with both enemies sharing individual health bars. Victory is achieved once both health bars are depleted.
Rewards and Next Steps
Upon defeating Nue Malefact and Shidou, players will receive Nue's Memories, which unlocks the Erica: Strangle Bloom Art and Blade Art: Nue. Additionally, the Black Blossom sword is awarded. With these challenges overcome, players can then prepare for Chapter 12, which progresses to The Capital. The game also offers options to respec abilities and provides other guides for skills and strongbox locations.
