In Beast of Reincarnation, acquiring new items through Manuals and armor sets can significantly improve your chances against the game's challenging enemies. Manuals unlock new crafting recipes for essential items like elemental arrows and potent consumables, while armor provides crucial defensive and resistance benefits, along with influencing stealth capabilities.
Manual Locations
Manuals are vital for crafting items that give you an edge in combat. While not every crafted item may see frequent use, such as Extinguishing Sand or Torches, many others are indispensable, especially on higher difficulties. These include medicinal tonics for Koo and elemental arrows for Emma.
Ogouchi Buffer Zone
Three manuals can be found in the Ogouchi Buffer Zone. Two of these are ranged projectiles for Emma, and others can be purchased from a golem merchant outside Nushi's final lair.
- Fire Arrow Manual: Located in the southwest corner of the village, within a building behind a golem manning a ballista. Note that fire arrows require a proper bow and are best upgraded for their scorch effect.
- Acid Bolt Manual: Found northwest of the initial objective. After navigating an enemy stronghold, you'll find a shack guarded by an elite golem. Defeating the golem rewards you with this manual. Acid bolts are particularly effective against golem enemies.
- Recovery Tonic (S) Manual: This manual is obtained for free by speaking with the Rusted Golem situated outside the subcity entrance. Remember to equip Koo's items from the equipment menu.
Merchandise available from the golem merchant includes Extinguishing Sand, Bottle of Acid, Torch, Fire Bolts, and Acid Arrows.
Ancient Civilization Zone
While this zone does not contain hidden manuals, a selection of useful items can be purchased from a merchant golem near the subway station, a point along the main mission path.
Purchasable items include Lightning Arrows, Acid Arrows, Bolt Shard, Golem Censer, and Neutralizer.
Great Wall Terraces
Two manuals are discoverable in this area, with additional items available from a wandering merchant golem on the ravine's west side.
- Oil Container Manual: Situated at the conclusion of the Maze of Sin in the southeastern part of the map. This area is filled with exploding oil containers, so proceed with caution. An elite golem guards the manual at the maze's end.
- Poison Arrows Manual: Found in an area west of the Flower Field Tower campsite, this manual is surrounded by enemies.
Purchasable items from the merchant golem include Explosive Bolts, Bottle of Oil, and Bomb.
Armor Set Locations
Armor sets offer varied defense ratings, resistance to status ailments, and different numbers of spirit stone slots. They also affect Emma's stealth capabilities.
Ogouchi Buffer Zone
The starting region offers a single armor set.
- Chain Mail: Found in a strongbox adjacent to a campsite overlooking a small lake. This set provides good fire resistance but significantly increases enemy awareness.
This set has 25 defense, 50 flame resistance, and 4 spirit stone slots, with extreme enemy awareness.
Ancient Civilization Zone
Two armor sets are available within this zone.
- Thick Cuirass: Located in a strongbox within tunnel ruins. After activating the campsite, enter a doorway with a green light to your right and defeat the samurai golem inside. This armor offers 29 defense, 60 poison resistance, and 4 spirit stone slots, with medium enemy awareness.
- Garb of Tranquility: Found after dealing with generators underground. Progressing up a valley, look for a large pipe on your right; the garb is in a strongbox at its end. This set provides 23 defense, 60 acid resistance, and 4 spirit stone slots, offering very stealthy capabilities with nonexistent enemy awareness.
Great Wall Terraces
This zone contains two armor sets.
- Insulating Mail: Located in a shack in the southeastern part of the map. This set provides 32 defense, 70 lightning resistance, and 5 spirit stone slots, but also results in extreme enemy awareness.
- Floral Wraps: Found in a strongbox near the golem merchant outside the zone's boss arena. This set offers 31 defense, 50 acid resistance, and 6 spirit stone slots, with low enemy awareness.
Future updates will detail manuals and armor found in later chapters.
