To fully utilize the Witchcraft abilities in The Blood of Dawnwalker, players will need to find skill manuals that unlock and upgrade these powerful hexes. While some abilities are acquired through the main story, a significant portion requires dedicated exploration and questing to obtain.
Witchcraft abilities offer a variety of effects, from summoning swarms of crows and setting enemies ablaze to defensive maneuvers like damage reflection. The manuals for these abilities are often found by completing Ancient Circles, Haunted Sites, or Pilgrimage of Power quests. They can also be discovered in bookcases or purchased from specific vendors.
Players unlock Compel Soul, Astral Communion, Burning Blood, and Mercurial Fervour automatically from Anca near the end of the prologue. The remaining six abilities require finding manuals, with additional manuals available to further level up all ten Witchcraft powers.
Witchcraft Merchants
Several vendors offer Witchcraft manuals. Anca becomes available at the Crossroads Inn in St. Tyna's Grove after completing the 'Echoes of Silenced Bells' quest. Vera can be found in the eastern part of the Briar Sloughs swamp, southeast of Mert's Mill. The Peddler of Wonders is located in the Midden, a ruined district west of Svartrau. Mevasser resides in Neustadt in Svartrau; from the central square's tree, enter the house to the left of the stone archway. Uriash Matriarch is accessible via the 'Lacra's Song of the Mountain' quest. Sanzhana merchant becomes available after completing the 'Gone Home' quest in Svatrau Outskirts and assisting the Sanzhani in Vale Sangora through the 'Letters to Lunka' and 'Pearly and Precious' quests.
Ability and Manual Locations
Ravenous Flock: This ability, which allows players to summon a crow attack to stun enemies, can be obtained by completing the 'Pilgrimage of Power: Bear Trouble' quest located west of the Laslea Gate shrine in Laslea Glen. Another manual can be earned from 'Pilgrimage of Power: Fanatics' northeast of the Woodland Outpost shrine in St. Tyna's Grove.
Cycle of Ruin: To acquire this manual, players must complete the Ancient Circle in the western Cursed Chasm, accessible by heading northwest from the Coward's Path shrine in Briar Sloughs. Additional manuals are found after defeating Svetlana, The Dark Prodigy in The Silts tower, within Xanthe's mansion during 'The Cycle of Love' quest, and can be purchased from Mevasser and the Uriash Matriarch.
Soul Reaping: This manual is found at the Ancient Circle east of Maragir, within the Maragir Wealds. Another can be obtained from the Haunted: River Massacre site northeast of Greifburg Castle, and from a vault chest in The Silts tower. Vera, Mevasser, and the Uriash Matriarch also sell this manual.
Burning Blood: While this ability is acquired at the start of the game, an additional manual can be found at an Ancient Circle southwest of Eerie Knoll shrine in Maragir Wealds. Other locations include a chest atop Boar's Back Tower and within the Curious House in Svartrau. Anca, Mevasser, and the Uriash Matriarch offer this manual for purchase.
Unholy Vitality: This manual is rewarded for completing the Haunted: Site of Crucifixion in south Maragir Wealds. Another is gained by defeating the final boss of Anca's 'Echoes of Silenced Bells' quest. The Uriash Matriarch and Sanzhana merchant stock this manual.
Soul Stigma: Players can find this manual by completing the Ancient Circle northeast of St. Tyna's Grove Tower shrine. It is also found in a chest at the end of Anca's 'Stronger Than Achilles' quest. Vera, Anca, and the Uriash Matriarch sell this manual.
Mercurial Fervor: Though unlocked post-prologue, a manual for Mercurial Fervor is located in the St. Tyna's Convent library during the 'Echoes of Silenced Bells' quest. The Sanzhana merchant and the Uriash Matriarch also offer it.
Life Lock: This damage-reflecting ability is automatically unlocked during the 'Who Pulls the Strings' quest, part of the Manumit questline, found within Aurelius's tower. After unlocking, two manuals can be purchased from Mevasser.
