The Spiritcaller Cave, located in Elden Ring's Mountaintops of the Giants, presents a significant challenge for Tarnished adventurers. This area is guarded by Lesser Spirit-Caller Snails that repeatedly summon spectral wolves, culminating in a formidable boss encounter with a Godskin Apostle and a Godskin Noble. Access to the cave requires two Stonesword Keys.
To find the Spiritcaller Cave, head north-east of the Guardians' Garrison. After resting at the 'Spiritcaller Cave' Site of Grace, proceed south-southeast towards a chasm. Initially, take the southern tunnel where a Lesser Spirit-Caller Snail awaits, capable of summoning ghost wolves until it is defeated. This initial passage also yields five Arteria Leaves from a corpse. Proceeding further into the cave, a fork in the path leads to a dead end containing valuable items: one Golden Rune (10), one Rune Arc, and one Hero's Rune (1).
From the fork, take the western tunnel. Here, players will encounter two snails, one in a left tunnel and another below. A samurai NPC, Inaba, Disciple of Okina, will also intervene in this area. After defeating Inaba and the two snails, exploration can continue. The left tunnel leads to an impassable rock face, while the area near the lower snail offers one Golden Rune (12) and two Freezing Grease.
Continue through the southern passage into a room filled with spectral wolves and another samurai. The first snail is located behind bushes on the right, with the second also concealed behind bushes on the left. Eliminating these summoners will neutralize the threat of recurring wolves. Looting this area reveals the White Reed Armor Set, one Golden Rune (6), and Invigorating White Cured Meat.
The final passage to the southeast leads to the cave's boss encounter, protected by a fog wall.
Spiritcaller Cave Boss Fight
The boss fight in Spiritcaller Cave is a three-phase encounter. It begins with a spectral Godskin Apostle, a familiar foe for many players. Following its defeat, a spectral Godskin Noble, recognizable from the Temple of Eiglay in Volcano Manor, will emerge. Its attack patterns remain consistent with its previous appearances.
The final phase of the battle involves a Lesser Spirit-Caller Snail. While these creatures were a nuisance throughout the cave, this final encounter is less threatening and easily managed.
Upon clearing the Spiritcaller Cave, players will be rewarded with 70,000 Runes, the Godskin Swaddling Cloth talisman, and the 'Ritual of the Black Flame' Incantation, a potent addition for Faith-based builds.
