Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Best Gifts Guide

Giving gifts in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is a swift method for increasing support levels with potential allies. A well-chosen gift that aligns with a character's preferences provides a significant boost, comparable to inviting them to a meal they enjoy. However, discerning everyone's tastes can be challenging, especially when some characters express their likes with peculiar phrases.

Gift Items and Acquisition

Gift giving is a weekly mechanic in Fortune's Weave. Players can find a variety of gift items at market vendors across the world map, including a dedicated shop in Dagsion. The lowtown tavern also offers beverages like coffee and Cervi. Shops in Dagsion are restocked and updated at the start of each new chapter.

Gift items are categorized into several broad groups:

  • Fashion
  • Beauty
  • Flowers
  • Cooking
  • Fermented drinks
  • Beverages
  • Coffee
  • Training
  • Weapons
  • Military
  • Horses
  • Books
  • Board games
  • Vegetables
  • Crafting
  • Fishing
  • Archery

Additionally, there are smaller categories such as agriculture, travel, and "spicy foods." Each item's description indicates its category. Gifts also vary in rarity, indicated by the color and markings on their icons: common gifts have a dark blue-green icon, uncommon ones have a lighter shade with a bottom-right symbol, and rare gifts are even lighter with a sparkle icon. Some characters may only prefer uncommon or rare items.

The Gifting System

When a gift is given, players can receive one of five reactions, which correspond to the amount of support points gained. These reactions are displayed as text banners and include "They don't like it" (no support gain), "They kind of like it" (small gain), "They liked it" (moderate gain), "They really liked it" (big gain), and "They really liked it" with double yellow arrows, reserved for favorite items.

While most characters appreciate all items within a category they favor, there are exceptions. For instance, a character who loves horse grooming kits might not appreciate mane ornaments if their specific mount, like an ornius, lacks a mane. Finding a character's absolute favorite item yields double support points, but is not essential for recruiting allies. Sufficient support can be gained through "really liked" items and meals.

Given the cost of gifts, strategic planning is recommended. Meals at the inn can supplement support gains for characters not receiving gifts. If a favorite item is unavailable, settling for a "really liked" item or an item they merely tolerate is acceptable, as there is ample time to build support before the end of the first act.

Best Gifts for Each Character

Here is a guide to the preferred gifts for most characters in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Bertrand is a notable exception, whose preferences are explicitly stated as "garum" early in Act 1. Activating the "Boon of Salvation" early can help reduce the cost of gift-giving.
