The Whitelake Frostfeather, Odette's signature sword in Genshin Impact, offers significant benefits, particularly for characters who can leverage its Stellar Glimmer damage capabilities. While designed with Odette in mind, its Crit Rate and attack-boosting effects make it a versatile option for other party members as well.
Acquiring the Whitelake Frostfeather
To obtain the Whitelake Frostfeather, players must wish on the Epitome Invocation weapon banner when Odette's character banner is active. The weapon is a five-star rarity. A five-star weapon is guaranteed within 80 wishes. If the first five-star weapon obtained is not the Whitelake Frostfeather, subsequent five-star weapon pulls will yield it, provided it remains featured on the banner and is selected as the player's 'Epitomized Path'.
Best Characters for Whitelake Frostfeather
While Odette is the intended wielder, benefiting from all aspects of the sword's Stellar Glimmer damage, Crit Rate, and attack buffs, several other characters can make excellent use of the Whitelake Frostfeather. Free-to-play alternatives like Finale of the Deep, Exaiphanes Blade, and Emberwell are also viable for Odette.
The Cryo Traveler is a strong candidate for the Whitelake Frostfeather, especially if the Exaiphanes Blade is being used elsewhere. This character can fully utilize the sword's Stellar Glimmer damage, Crit Rate, and attack enhancements.
Kaedehara Kazuha can equip the Whitelake Frostfeather, but this is only recommended if he is being used in a specific Stellar Swirl team composition. For other team setups, weapons such as Freedom-Sword, Xiphos' Moonlight, and Favonius Sword are generally more effective.
Clorinde, a DPS character, benefits from the Whitelake Frostfeather's Crit Rate and attack increases. The sword's Skill effect, which provides an attack boost when the Elemental Skill hits an opponent, can be activated by Clorinde's own Skill, further enhancing her damage output. However, Clorinde cannot take full advantage of the weapon's Stellar Glimmer damage buffs.
Alhaitham, another DPS character, can similarly use the Whitelake Frostfeather as a potent 'stat stick'. He can also trigger the initial part of the weapon's Skill through his own Skill usage, gaining an attack bonus. Like Clorinde, he does not benefit from the Stellar Glimmer damage enhancements.
Beyond these specific examples, any character who gains substantial benefits from increased Crit Rate and attack can equip the Whitelake Frostfeather for an immediate boost. This includes characters like Ayato, Keqing, or Ayaka. The weapon is particularly effective on attackers who frequently use their Elemental Skills, such as Clorinde and Alhaitham, as they can reliably activate its buffs.
