Grow a Garden 2 features eight distinct weather events that can occur randomly, affecting gameplay by influencing plant mutations, growth rates, and the availability of special items. Some of these events are exclusive to nighttime.

The game signals an ongoing weather event with an icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, which displays the event's name and bonus when hovered over. Weather can significantly impact crop value through mutations and offer opportunities for players to acquire rare seeds and other rewards.

Day and Night Weather Events

Several weather events occur during both day and night. Rain, for instance, doubles the growth speed of all plants and revives wilting crops. The Aurora event, recently added, carries a chance of applying an Aurora mutation to plants. A standard Starfall event may result in a "Starstruck" mutation, while Snowfall can lead to a "Frozen" mutation. Lightning also has the potential to apply an "Electric" mutation.

Newer additions to the game include the Gold Moon event, which occurs at night and spawns Gold Seeds, offering players a chance to become "Midas" and turn their first stolen item into gold. Similarly, the Rainbow Moon, also a night-time event, spawns Rainbow Seeds and can turn players "Star-Powered," allowing them to steal Rainbow crops.

Special Conditions and Effects

The Blood Moon, an event that happens at night, increases the likelihood of a "Bloodlit" mutation. The Rainbow event, while not exclusively at night, offers temporary access to the Rainbow Carpet item, facilitating faster movement across the map.

Players looking to maximize gains during specific events, such as the Gold Moon, can utilize items like the Magic Carpet, which can be permanently acquired via Robux, to quickly gather spawned Gold Seeds. Alternatively, positioning oneself near potential seed spawn locations or checking the backs of adjacent gardens can also be effective strategies. Care should be taken to avoid being pushed aside by other players competing for the same resources.

Each weather event, from the basic growth boost of Rain to the mutation chances of Snowfall and Lightning, presents unique challenges and rewards, encouraging players to adapt their strategies accordingly.
