The "Boarding Action" mission in Halo: Campaign Evolved features three skulls and one terminal, mirroring the collectible count of other levels. However, it is distinguished as one of three new areas introduced in Campaign Evolved, not present in earlier versions of the 2001 game. This mission places players in the roles of Master Chief and Sergeant Avery Johnson as they infiltrate a Covenant mothership to gather intelligence, a narrative set roughly one year before the main campaign.
Malfunction Skull
The Malfunction skull, which disables a random HUD element upon respawn, is located after a significant encounter. After defeating the pair of white-armored Hunters, players should deviate from the objective marker. Instead, look to the right side of the area where the Hunters were encountered to find an alternate path. Below this path, a Covenant seraph fighter ship is visible. Drop down to the level of the seraph, then proceed through the door behind it. Inside, a turret will be present, with a walkway situated behind it. The Malfunction skull can be found in the center of this walkway.
Johnny Ammo Seed Skull
The Johnny Ammo Seed skull affects reloading by causing players to lose any remaining ammo in a discarded clip. This collectible is found later in the mission, after the environment shifts from purple to white and gold. In the second large room encountered after this transition, marked by a horizontal purple gravity tube, clear all enemies, including cloaked Elites. After clearing the room, ascend the ramp at the back and then turn around. Proceed on the upper floor back towards the entrance. At the rear of this upper level, two doorways will be present; take the one on the left. Upon exiting this doorway back into the initial white and gold room, a group of Elites will emerge. After defeating them, proceed forward to a curved walkway extending toward the room's center. The Johnny Ammo Seed skull is located in the middle of this walkway.
Leadhead Skull
The Leadhead skull negates the bonus damage or instant kills typically granted by headshots. This skull is found later in the mission, after clearing waves of enemies in a room where Sgt. Johnson activates a gravity lift. Players should look behind this gravity lift and to the left for a doorway that was previously closed but is now open. Enter this doorway, turn left down the corridor, and the Leadhead skull will be at the end.
The Path Terminal
The terminal, referred to as "The Path," is accessible immediately after ascending the gravity lift. Turn around and proceed through the door located at the back of the room on the right-hand side. The terminal will be found just inside this doorway.
