Catching Critters in Moonlight Peaks is essential for cataloging the game's insect and creature population, and offers a lucrative way to earn in-game currency through selling them.
To begin capturing Critters, players will first need to acquire a Net. This tool is obtained shortly after arriving in Moonlight Peaks, following an encounter with Death. Death will task the player with capturing Soul Blobs, and upon successful completion, the Net will be provided.
Once equipped with the Net, players can approach Critters such as Butterflies. Players should position themselves within range of the Critter and then use the Net to capture it. This process is identical to catching the initial Soul Blobs. A successful capture will add the Critter to the player's inventory.
Some Critters exhibit greater speed than others. For these faster creatures, a common strategy is to herd them towards a corner or an area obstructed by trees, limiting their escape routes. Attempting the capture when the Critter turns back is often effective. However, players should be mindful that prolonged pursuit can cause a Critter to disappear.
Critter appearances are also influenced by the game's seasons and weather conditions. Players are encouraged to pay attention to their surroundings while exploring, as different Critters may emerge under varying environmental circumstances.
