Beast of Reincarnation offers both English and Japanese voice-overs, but changing between them is not immediately obvious within the game's menus.

Changing the Voice-Over Language

To switch your preferred voice-over language, you must be on the game's Title Menu. From there, navigate to Settings, then select Language. Here, you can choose between Japanese and English for the voice-overs. The same menu allows you to change the in-game text language. It is important to note that voice-over language cannot be changed while actively playing the game; this setting is only accessible from the Title Menu.

Which Dub to Choose?

While the choice between English and Japanese voice-overs is subjective, the Japanese dub may offer a more natural experience for the game's cutscenes. The cadence and pauses in Japanese dialogue often align better with the on-screen character animations, whereas the English dub can occasionally feel stilted as actors attempt to match lip movements. The Japanese voice actors' performances are generally perceived as more fitting for the game's setting in a ruined Japan.

However, the English dub is perfectly serviceable, especially if you are less concerned with the nuances of the story or if you find reading subtitles distracting during intense gameplay. Conversations with characters like Emma, Brad, and Kagura occur frequently. If you cannot understand Japanese by ear, attempting to read subtitles during a challenging boss battle can divert attention and potentially disrupt crucial gameplay moments like parries.

The Language settings also provide options to enable or disable subtitles, display speaker names, and change the text language.
