In Pokémon Pokopia's Bubbly Basin DLC, the "Build the Beautiful Building!" quest tasks players with revitalizing an underwater town by gathering Pokémon and materials to construct a central ocean temple. This guide outlines the necessary steps to complete this important request.
Following your arrival at environment level three, Popplio will guide you to the designated construction site for the ocean temple. Once the building kit is in place, several objectives must be met.
Quest Objectives
First, players must clear all sand and grass from the building area. Initially, the boundaries of the construction zone may not be visible, but they will become apparent as debris is cleared. Concurrently, players should complete requests from Corphish, Corsola, and Mareanie, if not already done. Corphish's task involves building a Sharpedo structure, Corsola's teaches watermelon farming, and Mareanie provides instructions for cleaning pearls.
Engaging with Other Pokémon
A significant portion of the quest involves assisting other Pokémon. Totodile, encountered near a wrecked bridge, initiates a mini-game of "look that way" which requires players to lose three rounds. Following Totodile leads to its second request: activating a bubble machine. To achieve this, players must find Chinchou and escort it to the room where the bubble machine is located, thereby completing Chinchou's request.
Frillish, found within a cave on the northwest side of the map, presents a two-part request. The initial part involves exploring the cave's entrance, while the second requires locating a hidden Starmie doll deeper inside.
Gathering Materials and Completing Habitats
Players will also need to assist Barboach, located north of the ocean temple site. Barboach's request involves retrieving a seashell seat from a nearby pit, situated in a dark area east of the pit, next to a sign for "Comfort Café Now Open!" Crafting mushroom lamps or collecting lampions in the vicinity can help illuminate this area. Upon returning the seashell seat, Barboach requests the construction of an "ocean rest spot" habitat, after which its quest is complete.
Once these individual Pokémon requests are fulfilled, players must return to Popplio to report the successful recruitment of its friends. Subsequently, nine additional Pokémon, along with Corphish, Corsola, Mareanie, Totodile, Frillish, and Barboach, must be brought to the building kit. The construction requires two ocean doors and ten pieces of seashell fencing, the latter of which can be purchased from the in-game shop.
Material collection is also crucial. Players need to gather 50 star-spotted rocks, 30 stones, 25 seashells, and 10 shiny pearls. The new Dream Island, accessible via the Starmie doll, is a recommended location for acquiring these resources. After depositing all collected materials at the ocean temple building kit, selecting "Start building!" will initiate a one-hour construction timer.
Most of these steps can be performed in any order, allowing for flexible progression. Upon completion of the building, players can enter the temple to find the mythical Pokémon Manaphy, who can then be invited to reside in Bubbly Basin.
