The "Monster in the Night" quest in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave may appear straightforward, but its in-game description misleads players about the creature's appearance time and location.
'Monster in the Night' Quest Walkthrough
The quest-giver indicates that the marketplace is being attacked by a monster at night. However, the creature targets areas within the City Streets section of the map, which is northeast of the main market area. Furthermore, the monster does not appear at night but rather at dusk.
To ensure the correct timing, players can use an inn's auto-activity function and set the end time to 18:00. This method allows players to gain some gold or experience without wasting turns trying to manipulate the in-game clock.
Once dusk arrives, proceed to the City Streets area, as indicated on the map, to find a Demonic Beast. Engaging this creature initiates an event clash battle. Despite its imposing appearance, the fight is generally manageable, featuring a single health bar and no special mechanics. It is advisable to use characters with high defense to mitigate incoming damage and leverage attack links to maximize damage output per turn. Magic users are particularly effective against the Demonic Beast due to its lower resistance compared to its defense.
After defeating the beast, return to the quest-giver to receive a reward of 1,500 gold and 100 renown.
