The Blood of Dawnwalker features a disorienting time loop quest known as 'Home Sweet Home,' centered around Ambrosius Tower in The Silts region. This tower initially appears to be a standard scouting location but harbors a temporal anomaly.

Entering Ambrosius Tower

Upon entering Ambrosius Tower, players will encounter enemy soldiers and a miniboss named Svetlana the Dark Prodigy. Progressing further, a door can be observed with a man preparing a ritual. Accessing this door requires 4x Time Segments. After paying the cost, players will be transported back to Coen's home in Laslea, initiating the prologue and the 'Home Sweet Home' quest.

The Time Loop's Core Conflict

Within the time loop, players control Coen in his past. The objective is to rescue his family from a Gargoyle. This involves combat encounters across three areas: defending against Spectral Skeletons in the first area, defeating Vidmo Specters in the second, and battling the Keeper of Nightmares Gargoyle miniboss in the third. Notably, Coen's gear is limited to common items during this sequence, significantly increasing the difficulty, and healing supplies are scarce.

Escaping the Time Loop

To break free from the time loop, players must complete one full cycle. On the subsequent run, after defeating the Vidmo Specters in the second area and instructing siblings to head to the church, players should avoid proceeding to the Gargoyle fight. Instead, activating Focus Mode and observing the well in the yard will reveal an interactable element. Interacting with the well transports the player to a new location.

The Secret Ending and Coen's Guilt

An alternative path exists for players who wish to explore a secret ending. By repeatedly replaying the time loop, specifically until the fourth run where the family is killed, players can witness a disturbing scene. On the fifth sequence, upon speaking to Coen's mother, the game reveals that Coen and his family are trapped forever, unlocking the "Together Forever" achievement.

To truly escape, players must interact with the well and speak to a shadow version of Coen. Responding with "Alin" prompts Coen to use his Shadowstep/Planeshift ability to traverse ledges and pass through a portal. This leads to a memory of a funeral, where specific dialogue choices are required: "Alin," then "Esme," and finally "Coen." The player then slides down a cliff to confront Alin, Coen's younger brother. It's revealed that Alin drowned during a childhood game with Coen, a traumatic memory Coen suppressed due to guilt.

Rewards for Breaking the Cycle

Upon successfully escaping the time loop and returning to the real world, players are rewarded with several items. These include the Astrologer's Ring, a legendary item found on Ambrosius that enhances witchcraft abilities and AC restoration. Players also obtain the recipe for Supernatural's Blood Infusion. The Flask of Quicksilver can be found on the tower's top floor. Additionally, if the player has not already done so, exiting the tower and reaching its summit allows for scouting the area and finding a chest containing the Unnatural Resilience Manual.
