Accessing the hidden Uriash Village and the vrakhiri Lacra in The Blood of Dawnwalker requires players to undertake distinct questlines that unlock the path to these elusive elements. The Uriash Village, situated in the western reaches of the map, is initially inaccessible, with attempts to approach the mountainous region near Rockfalls resulting in an automatic respawn.
Unlocking the Uriash Village
To gain entry to the Uriash Village, players must first interact with a vampiress named Lacra. This is achieved by completing the "A Friend Like This" quest. Following this, an uriash prisoner can be spoken to. Choosing to spare the prisoner and promising not to harm the villagers triggers the "Song of the Mountain" quest. This quest directs the player to meet Lacra in Crown Rock.
The "Song of the Mountain" quest can only be undertaken at night, as Lacra is a vrakhiri. She will express a desire to visit the village, and players must accompany her. During this journey, players will encounter situations requiring the use of abilities like Shadowstep and Planeshift to navigate vertical cliff faces. Encounters with wild animals, such as wolves and bears, are also part of the progression. Players are advised to feed on a shepherd as instructed by Lacra and to describe the experience positively to avoid offending her.
Navigating the Uriashi Encounter
Upon nearing the summit, players should save their progress, as they will face the uriashi matriarch, Bakr-Erga, and her companions. These enemies will hurl rocks at the player character, Coen, while Lacra urges retaliation. A delicate dialogue sequence follows, where specific choices are crucial to avoid combat. The recommended dialogue path involves a series of de-escalation statements such as "All right, fine," "Lacra, calm down," "Nobody needs to die," and "Can we stop with the hostilities?" followed by repeated inaction and the affirmation that a test has been passed. Successfully navigating this exchange will lead Bakr-Erga to order her warriors to stand down, allowing peaceful entry into the settlement. The Uriash Village itself contains a fast travel shrine and vendors, including the matriarch, who sells a comprehensive collection of Witchcraft skill manuals. Further quests involving Lacra can be pursued here, potentially leading to a romance scene, or players can assist the matriarch in a quest to find her daughter, as detailed in the "Ocha: The Heart Wants What It Wants" guide.
Locating Lacra in Svartrau City
Prior to accessing the Uriash Village, Lacra herself must be found. The quest "A Friend Like This" initiates this search within Svartrau City. Players first need to assist a vrakhiri named Vicho in solving a murder, a process detailed in "A Study in Crimson." After apprehending Doctor Simeon, Vicho will disclose information about another vampire operating within the city.
The journal entry for "A Friend Like This" will highlight three distinct locations in the northern part of Svartrau City to investigate. Players should utilize Focus Mode while traversing the streets near the city gates to identify clues like blood spatters and damaged structures. Following these leads, particularly damaged roof tiles, will guide the player. If it is nighttime or the player is in vampire form, abilities like Shadowstep or Planeshift can be used to reach rooftops. Continued use of Focus Mode while moving across buildings will eventually lead to a small, walled-off house, which serves as Lacra's hideout.
The Confrontation with Lacra
The initial encounter with Lacra results in a boss battle. After a brief exchange upon entering her hideout, she becomes hostile. Players must contend with her swift claw attacks and her ability to transform into a wolf for a powerful bite. Standard vampiric healing methods are advised, as the Voracious Bite ability is ineffective against her.
Following the fight, speaking with Lacra will lead to an interaction with an uriashi prisoner. Players have the option to spare this individual, with dialogue choices such as "Gladly, but we’ll actually talk," "What happened? Tell me your side of the story," "You have my word," and "I promise" being instrumental in this decision. This concludes the "A Friend Like This" quest, after which players will be able to journey to the hidden Uriash Village. The game also allows Coen to pursue a romance with Lacra.
