Players looking to assist Ocha in The Blood of Dawnwalker will need to progress through several quests before the opportunity arises to aid the daughter of the uriash matriarch. Her story arc involves two main quests: "A Mother's Plea" and "The Heart Wants What It Wants." These quests center on Ocha's disappearance and her entanglement with a local crime boss.

To begin, players must first complete "A Study In Crimson" to learn of Lacra's whereabouts, "A Friend Like This" to gain Lacra's trust, and "Song of the Mountain" to travel with Lacra to the hidden Uriash Village. Following these steps will unlock "A Mother's Plea," where the uriash matriarch, Bakr-Erga, reveals that Ocha is missing and last seen in the capital city.

Ocha can be found in one of Svartrau City's taverns. Heading to the tavern in Altmarkt and speaking with the bartender will reveal Ocha's location in a corner. Upon interaction, Ocha initiates a fistfight. Winning this bout allows for a calmer conversation, during which her friend Nora is also present. Both have fallen in with a crime boss named Andrei, and the player's next objective is to infiltrate Andrei's hideout to retrieve a memento for Ocha to use in a hex.

Infiltrating Andrei's Hideout

The "The Heart Wants What It Wants" quest begins with entering Andrei's hideout. Players have several options to gain entry. One method involves going to the butcher's shop, which serves as a front for Andrei's operations. At night, players can use vampiric powers to climb to a balcony. Alternatively, during the day, players can approach the butcher stall and activate Focus Mode. A beggar on the street can be paid 50 denarii, and if the player possesses any silver item, they can then talk to the butcher to gain access.

It is important to note that attempting to climb the balcony during the day can break the NPC script and halt quest progression. If players opt to present a silver item to the butcher, they will encounter Andrei. Remaining silent and avoiding aggressive dialogue options is advised. Killing Andrei directly will anger Ocha, as it deviates from her plan.

Selecting the Correct Memento

Once inside the hideout and assuming no hostile engagement with Andrei, players can use conciliatory dialogue options such as "Here’s what I’ve got," "Who wouldn’t be? What we’re doing here is illegal," and "You know how to handle it, that’s for sure." These responses will placate Andrei, creating an opportunity to steal an item unnoticed. The available mementos are a cleaver, a pendant, and a ring. The correct item for Ocha's hex is the ring, hinted at by Andrei's recollection of its significance from his past.

Rescuing Nora

Shortly after retrieving the memento and leaving the hideout, Ocha will inform the player that Andrei's goons have kidnapped Nora and taken her back to the hideout. Despite Ocha's urge to attack immediately, it is safer to advise, "We should stick to the plan." Exiting the building and activating Focus Mode, players can approach the pigsty and open the cage. This action distracts a guard, allowing the player to peer through a ground-floor window. If the ring was successfully taken, Ocha's hex will succeed, causing Andrei to repeatedly slam his head against walls.

Deciding Ocha's Fate

The conclusion of "The Heart Wants What It Wants" involves a conversation with Ocha, where dialogue choices determine if she returns to her village or remains in the city. The player should first suggest eating and then catch three crayfish by the river. During a campfire conversation, players can influence Ocha's decision through their responses to questions about home and the city. For instance, asking "Do you miss home?" will encourage her return, while "Do you like the city?" promotes her staying.

If Andrei was incapacitated by Ocha's hex, she will be more inclined to stay and potentially take over his syndicate. However, consistently choosing "home" dialogue options will result in her returning to her tribe.

Quest Conclusion and Vendor Unlocks

Upon completing Ocha's storyline, players can finalize "A Mother's Plea" by reporting back to Bakr-Erga. Regardless of Ocha's final decision, players will receive 250 XP, 150 denarii, and the Soul Stigma Manual. If Ocha remains in the city, she and Nora will manage Andrei's former syndicate. Players can visit Ocha, engage in a sparring match, and she will become a vendor selling training manuals and buying silver items. The player also receives the Broad Swing Manual as a reward.
