The Dive ability in Pokémon Pokopia allows players to explore and construct beneath the surface of the game's aquatic environments. To acquire this ability, players must first meet specific in-game requirements. Following these prerequisites, players should travel to Bleak Beach and speak with Professor Tangrowth.
Professor Tangrowth will direct players to investigate a newly discovered island off the coast of Bleak Beach. Upon arriving at the island, players will encounter Manaphy, who is hungry and requires five bunches of Seaweed. This Seaweed can be found on the island itself, or alternatively on the beaches of Bleak Beach, Palette Town, and the various Dream Islands.
Once the Seaweed is collected, players must return to Manaphy and offer it. After this, a second conversation with Manaphy will reveal that Ditto cannot swim underwater, thereby unlocking the Dive ability for the player. Following Manaphy's advice, players can then explore a nearby cave, which contains a decorative Poké Ball as treasure.
Upon returning the Poké Ball to Manaphy, it will depart to find a new home. The Dive ability is activated automatically when entering water, and players can hold the B button to swim or the ZL button to float in place for underwater construction. The Pokopia Expansion Pass also allows access to the Bubbly Basin DLC.
