Unlocking the formidable Prodigy unit in Anime Expeditions, a new addition from the Warrior Saga update, involves completing a multi-stage questline known as 'The Scholar's Trial.' This secret, Gohan-inspired unit requires players to first acquire and evolve two Mythical units, followed by a challenging series of in-game objectives.

To commence the quest, players must navigate to the story mode in Anime Expeditions and select any level within the East Town campaign. Upon entering a mission, players should proceed left from the enemy portal, following the road until they discover a park. Within this park, the Prodigy quest NPC can be found.

Speaking with the NPC will present two questlines; the player must select 'The Scholar's Trial' to begin the process of unlocking Prodigy. The trial comprises several distinct steps, each with its own set of requirements.

Completing The Scholar's Trial

The initial steps involve completing the East Town campaign and participating in a tournament. For the tournament objective, players need only launch the event, with no requirement to win. Following this, players must clear a Boss Node located in East Town on difficulty 3. This can be achieved by selecting the East Town map in the Expedition Centre, setting the difficulty, and progressing to a Boss Node.

Resource Gathering and Unit Evolution

A significant portion of the quest involves collecting 350 Mechanical Scrap. This resource is obtainable through East Town Expeditions, and maximizing its acquisition can be aided by selecting Expedition routes that feature numerous resource drops. To streamline this process, enabling the 'Auto-Upgrade Placed Units' option in the settings allows the game to automatically spend in-game currency on unit upgrades, enabling players to go AFK while scrap accumulates. This is also a strategic time to place units like Carrot (Unleashed) and Bioinsect (Final Form) to simultaneously work towards the wave completion objective.

Another requirement is to evolve at least one unit. This can be done at the Evolution Chamber, and it is recommended to evolve Carrot and Bioinsect early to facilitate the later stages of the quest. It is essential to evolve Carrot into Carrot (Unleashed) and Bioinsect into Bioinsect (Final Form) before proceeding to the wave-clearing objectives.

Final Objectives and Claiming Prodigy

Players must then complete Prodigy's Trial by clicking the pen symbol next to the corresponding quest step. This trial allows players to test Prodigy and other rare units in a specific mission.

The penultimate and most time-consuming objectives involve clearing 150 waves with Carrot (Unleashed) and another 150 waves with Bioinsect (Final Form). The most efficient method for this grind is to select the easiest level on its lowest difficulty setting, activate 'Auto-Upgrade Placed Units,' and place Carrot and Bioinsect near the start of the track. Players can then periodically reset the level and re-deploy the units to passively accumulate waves cleared.

Once all objectives are met, returning to the Prodigy NPC in the East Town campaign map will allow players to turn in the quest. Upon completion, Prodigy will be added to the player's inventory. This unit boasts high DPS and can be further evolved into Prodigy (Rage), considered one of the game's most powerful units.
