Insomniac Games' Marvel's Wolverine plunges players into an original narrative where the iconic mutant must defend the future of both humanity and his own kind. Alongside his former team, Team X, Wolverine embarks on a series of perilous missions across diverse locations, where deception lurks beneath the surface.

This initial area introduces players to Wolverine's abilities across three crucial missions.
Back in Action
Begin by clearing the compound's ground forces and destroying the AA Gun, following combat tutorial prompts. Utilize stealth to take down guards in the grass. After Sabretooth's arrival, cut through foliage with your claws to pursue him. Engage Reaver enemies, whose combo attacks require precise parrying to stagger them. To progress, scale a cliff using a fallen tree and guard tower. Enter the fake city through a hole in a roof and investigate the immediate area, including an audio clue. Search the fake city for Trask's guards and Reavers while investigating mutant detectors indicated by blue circles. Finally, find a way into the compound.
A helpful tip for players struggling with stealth is to remember that it's optional. If stealth proves difficult, players can opt for a more direct, aggressive approach without penalty.
A Debt Repaid
Use Wolverine's enhanced sense of smell to follow a blue scent trail into the compound and locate the lab. Prioritize taking out the mutant inhibitors in the corners of the room before engaging the Reavers. Failing to do so will likely result in being overwhelmed. Follow Trask's trail to the prison, using kicks against shielded enemies and dodging their red power attacks. Eliminate Reavers guarding the cells and take out the mutant inhibitors lining the hallway leading to Essex's cell. Then, escape the prison.
Last Meal
This mission culminates in a boss battle against Omega Red.
Canada Section
Following the events at the Trask compound, Logan returns to his home in Canada, encountering new allies and challenges at the Essex Institute.
Homecoming
Navigate the hallway and retrieve an object from the fridge. Check on Walter in the lab and then head upstairs to rest in your room. Follow a scent trail to find your first collectible whiskey bottle. Engage with Essex's projection to recover lost memories, which unlocks optional side-quests and trials known as Nightmare Doors. Complete the 'Enemy of my Enemy' trial to proceed. Deliver the discovered Material Crates to Walter; the first is in the room behind him, and the second is in Victor's bathroom. Finally, equip a new suit.
The One That Got Away
Investigate the immediate area to piece together recent events. Locate headphones playing a song on the ground, lift the sofa to find the connected phone, and examine a crate containing inhibitor collars. Proceed upstairs, jumping across a bar to reach a hole in the roof. Climb out onto the roof and track the red-haired mutant using a scent line. When the scent is lost, climb tall silos to regain it. After defeating the first pair of Reavers, follow footprints on the ground, break through a barricade, and continue tracking. Another Nightmare Door will be encountered along this path. Eliminate Reavers to search trucks for mutants. Search the second truck, inspect dock workers, and examine an item at the container's end. Continue tracking the mutant, following scent trails, footprints, and the quest marker. Enter an open cargo container on deck and prevent Reavers from transporting mutants. Parry the dual-sworded Reaver's attacks to stagger them, then catch up to the mutant-carrying truck. Jump across convoy trucks, defeating Reavers to close the distance.
Raise Some Hell
Defeat Reaver scouts and proceed to the refinery, eliminating guards to find the mutants. Stealth can be utilized by climbing trees and moving between branches. Inspect a truck and follow the trail. The refinery door is locked with Osmium; enter via a conveyor belt to the left. Track the captured mutants using a scent trail and fight your way to them. Find a way to reach an open window. Inside the office, interact with papers on a desk and a computer near a blast shield. Assist Jean in protecting the mutants. Wait for large brute enemies to launch yellow attacks, parry these specifically, and dodge others. Destroy the consoles controlling the assembly and then escape.
Strays
Follow Jean and find all of Leech's drawings. Provide Leech with the password, then follow him to Walter's lab.
Something Much Stronger
Make your way to the cabin and find an injured animal. Follow tracks and interact with the wolf to free it. Continue to the cabin, following wolf tracks in the snow if you become disoriented. Inside the cabin, locate a bottle of whiskey by investigating scent points. Find and defeat the Hunters by looking for footprints in the snow, staying hidden in the grass, and using stealth attacks while dodging suppressor mines. Utilize trees for cover and unseen movement.
Madripoor Section
After the loss of Essex's compound, the pursuit of Trask leads to Madripoor.
Knock Knock
Fight your way to Trask Tower by disabling the power station, destroying its core pillars, and then destroying the signal relay. Reach Trask Tower and survive its forces. Utilize barrels to activate Hot Claws, which are effective against most enemies.
Mutant Detected
Locate Trask's secret facility by finding a code for a rear elevator, then breaking through the back door and sliding down the shaft. Find Trask in the security office, defeat his assault team, and proceed to the bottom floor to reach Bay 7. Cut power to the inhibitors by destroying control panels. Survive laser grids and engage Reavers; Mystique will assist by targeting enemies with her controlled laser. Explore Bay 7 and escape the propulsion tunnel. Continue tracking Trask.

Defeat the Sentinel Prototype in this mission.
One Last Mission
Converse with your team: Victor is upstairs on the balcony, Walter is upstairs in the corridor playing music, and Mystique is downstairs behind the bar with Tyger. Speak to Walter, then find Jean by following her scent through the streets. Rescue Walter, then pick up his trail. After a rooftop chase, his scent will be lost; continue forward to find a blood trail from a pickup van. Clear out the Hand and search for Walter.
Japan Section
The journey continues to Japan, where Wolverine must confront the Hand and an old adversary.
Jetlag
Engage and defeat the Hand operatives attacking the plane. Once back inside, finish them off. Reach Kabukicho while fending off Hand attackers during transit.
Get Angry
Locate Jean in Kabukicho by finding the arcade she was in and following her scent. Deal with Hand snipers, then find the bar from Jean's vision. Explore deeper, use the elevator in the back, and defeat the ambush. Find a way forward by destroying incense burners in each room to break the first illusion, then exit via the elevator. Locate where the Hand is holding Walter captive. Rescue prisoners, find the Telepath, and escape their trap by crashing through doors. Fight enemies at the end and crash through the final door. Defeat the Hand operatives blocking the elevator and discover where it leads. Look for signs of Walter.
Bad Blood
Leave the street and head to an apartment. Catch a masked Hand warrior and defeat an ambush. Meet Jean outside Shiro's building and ascend to the penthouse. Find the keypad code for Shiro's closet and investigate the secret room.
In the Shadows
Enter and investigate an arcade, then a hidden room. In the hidden room, examine blood vials, a modified detector, and a map. Deal with the Hand and return to the street. Find and destroy mutant detectors by following blue audio clue markers, then follow the wire from each detector to its power box and press Triangle to destroy it. Track the wounded Hand and search their hideout for signs of Walter. Find a new lead and hijack a noodle truck to locate the hideout. Eliminate the Hand defending it, search for Walter, defeat Hand members on the ground floor, and head down the elevator. Find Walter by exiting the hideout and following the music. Press R3 if lost to find the quest marker. Speak with the Chosen in the lounge and debrief with Jean. Find the secret exit by looking for a weak spot in the wall. Catch up to Walter and defeat the Hand, focusing on the Fist Hand and dodging its attacks while using special attacks to daze and inflict damage on other members. Return to Shiro's apartment.
Death Comes to Death
Reach Harada Garden Tower and find a way inside. Check security footage and locate the Helix Engine. Defeat the demon mutant by parrying its attacks before chasing your target. Survive the dream onslaught by repeatedly using Helix Claws until you break free.
We Were Wrong
Track the Helix Engine and find an alternate entry by climbing to a ledge above the door and dropping through a vent. Investigate the restaurant and follow footprints. Track the Hand mutant that took the Helix Engine, surviving an ambush by focusing on the large mutant Hand before engaging others. Recover the Helix Engine. Use Jean's prompt to stagger enemies, which is especially useful for managing large waves. Get to the truck carrying the Helix Engine. To defeat the large Hand mutant blocking the truck, take out its connected Hand enemies first; it will then be weaker and vulnerable to attack.
Hell Followed With Him
This mission begins in an empty area; follow footprints to a memorial. Continue forward, eliminating Hand members until you reach the interior. At the top, tail your target and investigate the Shrine.
Death’s Match
Defeat Deathstrike in a boss battle.
Sinister Tidings
Get a drink, head to the bathroom sink, then go downstairs to the kitchen and talk to Jean on the balcony.
