Mortal Shell 2 players seeking to uncover hidden areas may find themselves puzzled by the Makeshift Projectile, an item that requires a specific sequence of actions to utilize. This guide details the locations of the necessary components and the steps to progress.
The Makeshift Projectile and its associated structures are primarily found within the Mammon region. Players will need to locate a catapult, the projectile itself, and the Alchemist's Workshop.
Finding the Catapult
The catapult is situated near the Outskirts of Mammon beacon. From the beacon, players should head southeast into a grassy area. There, they will find the siege weapon guarded by several soldiers. Ruk, an NPC, can also be found nearby, along with the region map. This location serves as the initial point of interaction for using the Makeshift Projectile.
Locating the Makeshift Projectile
The Makeshift Projectile can be found on the southern edge of the Outskirts of Mammon zone. After departing from the beacon and heading southeast, players will need to cross rope bridges to reach the lowlands. Just beyond an NPC named Vlas, an opening beneath a large stone bridge will lead players further south towards a cliff edge. Here, the Makeshift Projectile and a note can be discovered. Once acquired, the projectile must be returned to the catapult.
The Alchemist's Workshop
Using the Makeshift Projectile at the catapult will launch a large rock, striking a specific location. To find this impact site, players must travel to the central zone, Castigator's Keep. To the west of this area, players will observe rocky outcroppings containing a construction site and several Miner enemies. Following the cliffside path toward this construction area will reveal the section destroyed by the projectile. This destruction leads to a dungeon known as the Alchemist's Workshop.
Inside the Alchemist's Workshop, players can find several items of interest. An alchemical brew is available on a desk; consuming it causes a disorienting sideways camera tilt that can be reversed by interacting with the desk prompt again. An inner chamber contains a dais with a Synaptic Vessel, used for upgrading the Mether's Flask, along with five Glimpse materials for shells. At the bottom of the workshop's elevator shaft, a Shell Snatcher enemy guards the Clockwork Shardstone.
