Your Shell is a crucial element in Mortal Shell 2, providing essential abilities and a vital health pool. Losing it leaves your Harbinger exposed and at a significant disadvantage. Fortunately, there are distinct methods to recover your lost Shell, a process that differs considerably from the original Mortal Shell.
Reclaiming Your Shell
In Mortal Shell 2, you can revive your Shell through two primary methods: dealing melee damage to enemies or resting at a Beacon. When your Harbinger is outside of its Shell, a percentage indicator will appear on the lower right side of the user interface, showing the current recovery progress of your Shell.
Inflicting melee damage on opponents gradually increases this percentage. Upon reaching 100%, a visual cue will appear on your Harbinger, along with a button prompt (typically 'Y' on an Xbox controller) to initiate the revival.
It is important to note that each subsequent revival requires more melee damage to reach the 100% threshold. However, resting at a Beacon will reset this progression, effectively making the next revival easier to achieve.
Staying Alive During Recovery
Surviving long enough to fully recover your Shell presents a challenge, as your Harbinger form is considerably less resilient than a possessed Shell. Without access to Shell abilities, survival relies heavily on mobility and precise dodging of enemy attacks. The 'Hardening' mechanic can be particularly useful for withstanding direct hits. Alternatively, parrying enemy attacks can also contribute to Shell recovery, though this carries a higher risk.
Mastering these recovery techniques is essential for progression in Mortal Shell 2. For further assistance, additional guides cover topics such as fast traveling between Beacons, camera options, acquiring early-game weapons, and identifying all bosses within the game.
