Grintale: Egg Collection and Early-Game Mobility
Grintale, a Neutral-type Pal, is particularly valuable for its Partner Skill, "Glaring Cat's Eye." This ability provides a 50% increased chance of obtaining an extra Pal Egg when collecting eggs, making it a significant asset for players focused on Pal breeding. Additionally, Grintale serves as a capable early-game mount, requiring the Grintale Saddle unlocked at Technology Level 12. Beyond its utility in the field, Grintale possesses Gathering Level 3 Work Suitability, allowing it to efficiently harvest crops at a base.
Grintale Locations and Combat
Grintale can be found in several areas across Palpagos Islands. During both day and night, they inhabit the Mushroom Wetlands. At night, Grintale can also be encountered in the Scars of War, Verdant Brook, and Moonless Shore regions. The Mountain Stream Grotto dungeon is another reliable location. An Alpha Grintale can be found on Marsh Island. Players have reported finding Grintale near the Mushroom Wetland Fast Travel point, often at around Level 48. When engaging Grintale in combat, it is advisable to separate individuals before initiating an attack, as they frequently appear in pairs.
Grintale's primary element is Neutral, making it weak to Dark-type attacks. Upon defeat, Grintale may drop High Quality Pal Oil, Ancient Civilization Parts, Precious Pelt, and the Ring of Neutral Resistance. While not all breeding combinations are listed, some effective methods for breeding Grintale include Lifmunk with Quivern, Eikthyrdeer with Shroomer, Teafant with Verdash, Woolipop with Leafan, and Cattiva with Vaelet.
Jellroy: Salvaging and Base Utility
Jellroy is a dual-type Water and Dark Pal that excels in specific utility roles. Its Partner Skill, "Jellroy Drop," offers a 55% increase in items recovered when salvaging Scrap from debris. At the base, Jellroy provides a 50% boost to its watering speed. Its Work Suitability includes Watering Level 2 as its strongest skill, crucial for operating water-powered machinery and maintaining crops. It also possesses Handiwork 1, Medicine 1, and Transporting 1, making it a versatile addition to any base.
Jellroy Locations and Engagement
Jellroy is primarily found on Phantom Isle, situated northwest of Mount Obsidian and west of the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary. These Pals often spawn in groups of two to four. Fishing in areas such as the Bamboo Groves, Sea Breeze Archipelago, Sunlit Isle, Frostbitten Shore (at night), and Windswept Hills can also yield Jellroy. An Alpha Jellroy can be encountered as a boss within the Ravine Grotto dungeon. Players have located Jellroy near the Phantom Isle Fast Travel point, typically around Level 35/36. Due to their tendency to appear in groups, engaging them requires careful dodging of attacks from multiple Jellroy while focusing damage on a single target.
Jellroy's Water and Dark typing makes it vulnerable to Electric and Dragon-type attacks. Defeated Jellroy can yield Pal Fluids, Jellroy Bells, Flesh, Ancient Civilization Parts, Precious Entrails, and Growth Acceleration Bells. Breeding Jellroy can be achieved through various combinations, including Mau with Grintale, Rushoar with Fuack, Ignis Teafant with Loupmoon, Direhowl with Foxparks, Cryst Pengullet with Lux, Leezpunk with Dazzi, and Dazzi with Cattiva.
