In Pokémon Pokopia's Bubbly Basin downloadable content, six treasure maps act as keys to unlocking valuable hidden items. These maps can be found by digging at shining spots that appear daily on the Bubbly Basin map. While the maps themselves are optional for finding the treasures, they guide players to artifacts left behind by a vanished civilization. Collecting these treasures allows for the creation of a unique habitat.
Treasure Map Locations
Each treasure map leads to a decorative Poké Ball, which are essential for constructing the 'mermaid's gym' habitat.
Treasure Map #1 rewards players with a Decorative Great Ball. To find it, travel to the bathing house next to the Pokémon Center in Bubbly Basin. Descend the stairs to the left of the bathing house and locate a destructible wall of blue rocks past a bench. The secret room containing the item is behind this wall.
For the Decorative Heal Ball, guided by Treasure Map #2, players should head northeast of the ocean temple. Swim past a tall red-roofed building to an area where Barboach appears during the 'Build the Beautiful Building!' quest. Breaking ground blocks near large coral formations will reveal an underground room containing the Heal Ball.
Treasure Map #3 points to the Decorative Dive Ball near the abandoned gym in Bubbly Basin. From the main square, head east towards a breakable wall of dirt blocks that leads to the gym's path. Facing the gym, turn south and destroy a wall of star-spotted rocks to access the room with the Dive Ball.
Adventurers seeking the Decorative Net Ball, associated with Treasure Map #4, should navigate to the cave northwest of the main square. This area is also where Frillish is encountered during the 'Build the Beautiful Building!' quest. After entering the cave, jump into the water and proceed to a section where nets block the way. Beyond these nets, in a room with tracks and blue crystals, look for a destructible wall of blue rock on the southeastern side.
Treasure Map #5 leads to the Decorative Lure Ball near a house with a yellow mailbox, located on the northeast side of the map, close to the portal pods. Dig on the west side of this house, near some coral, to uncover the room containing the Lure Ball.
Finally, Treasure Map #6 offers the Decorative Quick Ball. This treasure is found in the southern part of the map, near the Bubbly Basin gate. From the gate, travel north, descend stairs, and then turn west. Behind the remains of a house, a wall of star-spotted rocks can be broken to reveal the room with the Quick Ball.
Creating the Mermaid's Gym Habitat
Collecting all six decorative Poké Balls is crucial for building the 'mermaid's gym' habitat, which serves as Starmie's home. To complete this habitat, players will need one marine sofa, six exhibition stands, and the six decorative Poké Balls acquired from the treasure maps.
For a streamlined approach to acquiring the exhibition stands, players can visit the abandoned gym indicated by Treasure Map #3, located east of the main square. Once all decorative Poké Balls are collected, they can be placed on the exhibition stands in any order. The recipe for the marine sofa is typically obtained during gameplay.
Completing this habitat will allow Starmie to appear in the player's town. Further guides are available for locating portal pods for universal storage and obtaining the Starmie doll to unlock a new Dream Island, alongside updated Pokopia cooking recipes and a Bubbly Basin habitat index.
