Completing the 'Build the Beautiful Building' Important Request in Pokémon Pokopia's Bubbly Basin requires players to gather specific materials and recruit Pokémon to construct an Ocean Temple. This quest is part of the DLC content, requiring a purchase to access.
The process begins after reaching Environment Level Three in Bubbly Basin. The Important Request is divided into several sub-requests, often initiated by Pokémon with speech bubbles above their heads. While these can be tackled in a slightly different order, the core objectives remain consistent.
Preparing for Construction
Before the Ocean Temple can be built, several Pokémon need assistance. Players must first find Popplio and assist it with placing the Ocean Temple building kit. To proceed, players need to create habitats and find specific Pokémon. For Corsola's 'Grow a crop field!' request, players must first create a 'Basin Tall Grass and Coral' habitat using four Seabed Tall Grass, one Small Coral, and one Tall Coral. This habitat attracts Corsola. To initiate Corsola's request, Mudkip must be found. This can be done by creating a 'Basin Tall Grass' habitat with four clumps of Seabed Tall Grass. Once Mudkip is found, it needs to be led to the crop field and tasked with blowing bubbles on the crops to grow Watermelons. After harvesting the Watermelons, they must be given to Corsola, who will then request assistance with cutting them into slices, requiring Carvanha.
Carvanha can be found by creating a 'Seaweed and Netting' habitat using four Netting and two Lush Seaweed. Once found, Carvanha should be shown a Watermelon and asked to create Watermelon Slices. These slices are then collected and given to Corsola.
Next, Corphish needs to be located. This involves creating a 'Sandy Basin Tall Grass' habitat with one Sandpile and four Seabed Tall Grass. Corphish's request is to find a Submarine Kit. This kit is located in a tunnel in the north-eastern part of Bubbly Basin's entrance square. Players will need to break through some blocks at a seemingly dead end to find the kit.
With the Submarine Kit acquired, players return to Corphish to begin the 'Build a submarine!' request. Constructing the submarine requires 10 Iron Ore, 5 Sea Glass Fragments, and one Pokémon with the 'Build Specialty'. The construction takes one hour.
Gathering Resources and Pokémon
Mareanie can be found by creating a 'Swaying Flower Bed and Coral' habitat, which requires one Colourful Coral and four Seabed Flowers. Mareanie is initially looking for a Shiny Pearl. Players are advised to show Mareanie a Grubby Pearl first, which can be found in a tunnel, to make meeting Cloyster easier. Cloyster's habitat is 'Swaying Flower Bed and Seaweed', requiring one Chimney Rocks, four Seabed Flowers, and two Lush Seaweed. Once a Shiny Pearl is obtained, either from Cloyster or another Scrub Pokémon, it is given to Mareanie, who then requests the player to craft a Marine Sofa. The Marine Sofa recipe is 1 Seashell, 1 Shiny Pearl, and 1 Twine. After crafting, the sofa must be placed in Mareanie's habitat.
Totodile appears on the stairs opposite the Ocean Temple construction site. Players must engage in games of 'Look that way' and hide-and-seek with Totodile. Following Totodile to a park and then a building's bathroom eventually leads to a request to fix a bubble machine needing electricity. This is resolved by building a Mini Generator and setting up a Utility Pole next to the machine.
Barboach is found past the ruined tower, near the stairs from the Ocean Temple. After talking to Barboach twice, players descend into a deep sea area to find its lost treasure, the Seashell Seat. Collecting Lampions can aid visibility in this area. The Seashell Seat is a clam shell found in a hallway-like space after dropping into the area. The 'Ocean Rest Spot' habitat for Barboach requires one Small Coral, one Seashell Seat, and one Lampion.
Frillish is located in a blocked-off tunnel to the left of the bridge north of the Ocean Temple site. After breaking through blocks, players must guide Frillish through a cave. This involves clearing obstacles and using a Dowsing Machine, crafted with one Pokémetal, to find a Starmie Doll. The doll is found within the cave network, often in an area with railroad tracks.
Building the Ocean Temple
After assisting all of Popplio's friends, players can focus on the Ocean Temple itself. Before gathering materials, it is recommended to clear the construction area. The Ocean Temple requires 50 Star-spotted Rock, 30 Stone, 25 Seashells, 10 Shiny Pearls, 10 Seashell Fencing, and 2 Ocean Doors. It also requires 15 Pokémon, one of which must have the 'Build Specialty'. The build time is one hour.
Star-spotted Rock is found by smashing red, blue, and grey blocks decorated with stars throughout Bubbly Basin, particularly in the mining area north of the entrance. Shiny Pearls are obtained by collecting 10 Grubby Pearls, which are brown, ball-like objects found in Bubbly Basin, and giving them to a Pokémon with the 'Scrub' ability, such as Shellder, Cloyster, or Sharpedo. Seashell Fencing is unlocked at the PC upon reaching Environment Level 3 and costs 500 Life Coins, requiring 1 Star-spotted Rock and 1 Shiny Pearl per 10 pieces. The recipe for Ocean Doors is found while clearing the Ocean Temple area, and each door requires two blocks of Star-spotted Rock. Stone and Seashells are common materials found scattered across Bubbly Basin.
Once all materials and Pokémon are gathered, the Ocean Temple can be built. After the one-hour construction period, players can enter the completed temple to find Manaphy, concluding the 'Build the Beautiful Building' Important Request.
