Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy presents players with several intricate puzzles throughout its narrative. This guide details the solutions for the challenges encountered in Chapter 3, "Those Before Us," and Chapter 4, "From Hell It Rose," including door, lens, maze, and spike trap puzzles.
Chapter 3: 'Those Before Us' Lens Puzzles
Near the end of Chapter 3, players will encounter lens puzzles in a large palace. The first puzzle serves as an introduction to redirecting light beams. Players must interact with the lenses opposite two golden disks and rotate them until the light beams connect to the disks, opening a sealed doorway.
Following this, a more complex lens puzzle requires players to redirect beams to reveal three minotaur paintings on a wall. After interacting with a central gilded pillar, players should take the first lens on their right and aim its beam at the golden disk on the opposite side of the room to reveal the first painting. Next, aim the lens to the left of this painting at the lens previously used. Then, rotate the first lens to the left to hit a third lens, which should then be aimed at the nearest golden disk to reveal the second painting. To reveal the third painting, use the broken lens on the right side of the room, with Leni's assistance, and redirect a beam from the lens opposite the open door to this broken lens.
Chapter 4: 'From Hell It Rose' Puzzles
Chapter 4, "From Hell It Rose," introduces a series of more complex challenges, beginning with a door puzzle.
Door Puzzle
At the start of Chapter 4, players encounter a sealed door in a circular room. To open it, interact with the gilded socket to raise three pillars. Each pillar has a disk that must be rotated to display a specific symbol. Using the Light Reveal ability with the sphere will show blue lines connecting each pillar to its corresponding symbol on the wall. The correct symbols are: the left pillar should show three lines resembling a 'Y,' the middle pillar a 'C,' and the right pillar an upward-pointing arrow.
Lens Puzzle
Following the door puzzle, players will find a room filled with lenses. The first step is to step on a pressure plate to activate the light beam, which Leni can hold. Then, redirect the lenses. Grab the nearest lens on the left and aim its beam toward the lens on the right. Take the nearest lens on the right and aim its beam toward the lens left of the sealed door. Finally, aim the beam toward the lens on the right side of the sealed door, and then toward the golden disk on the sealed door to solve the puzzle.
Maze Puzzle
Shortly after the lens puzzle, players encounter a maze puzzle surrounded by stone pillars. Using the Light Reveal ability will show a maze of blue lines. Each of the four stone pillars displays a symbol. Two of these symbols connect to stone disks that must be rotated. The disk on the left connects to a beetle-shaped symbol, similar to an 'O,' and the disk on the right connects to a symbol resembling an 'F' (three lines, one vertical, two horizontal). Matching these symbols solves the maze. Be prepared for combat immediately after solving this puzzle.
Spike Trap Puzzles
Throughout Chapter 4, players will navigate corridors with spike traps. The key to surviving these is using the Light Reveal ability to see safe paths indicated by blue symbols on the walls. If a floor tile's symbol matches a wall symbol, it is safe to step on.
For the first spike trap, walk straight across the tiles on the left. For the second, take the first two tiles on the right, then proceed across the final two tiles in the middle row. The third spike trap, featuring wall spikes, requires pressing one of six buttons. The correct button is the furthest one on the left, below the symbol resembling scales, as it matches a safe symbol from previous puzzles.
The fourth and largest spike trap puzzle requires activating a light beam for the sphere by having Leni assist on a ledge. Then, use Light Reveal to follow a blue line across the room. There are three blind spots where the blue line is not visible, requiring players to memorize the path. At the first blind spot, loop around the tile with a skeleton and proceed straight. At the second, go straight behind a large plate, then turn left at the end. For the third blind spot, follow an S-shaped path toward a golden circle in the wall, then proceed straight to safety.
