Players venturing into the aquatic world of Subnautica 2 will soon discover the necessity of a Fully Functional Fabricator to progress and craft essential items. While the lifepod provides a basic Fabricator, it is insufficient for advanced crafting.
To acquire a Fully Functional Fabricator, players must first establish a base. This endeavor requires resource gathering and a series of crafting steps.
Survival Multitool
The initial step involves crafting a Survival Multitool. This tool is crucial for clearing debris, harvesting resources like Fibrous Pulp, and fending off aggressive fauna. To craft it, players need 3x Titanium, which can be processed using the lifepod's existing Fabricator.
Scanner
Next, players must craft a Scanner. This requires obtaining Acidic Raion Pouches from pink, brain-like plants found in caves beneath the lifepod. Along with the pouches, players will need to gather 2x Copper, 2x Titanium, and 2x Quartz. Quartz is commonly found within orange coral domes near the lifepod. With these materials, a Battery and then a Scanner can be crafted.
Habitat Builder
Crafting the Habitat Builder is a more involved process, as it requires locating two Habitat Builder fragments. These fragments can be found outside the Welcome Center, approximately 90 meters southwest of the lifepod, and near a black box and Angel Comb that aids in curing Digestive Incompatibility. Once both fragments are scanned, players will need 2x Titanium, 4x Quartz, 4x Copper, and another Acidic Raion Pouch to build the Habitat Builder.
Base Construction
With the Habitat Builder, players can construct a base. A Room blueprint can be found by traveling approximately 400 meters north of the lifepod. Once the blueprint is acquired, a standard Room requires 5x Titanium, and a Hatch requires 1x Titanium and 1x Quartz. After building these components and placing them within the lifepod, players can craft a Fabricator for the base using 1x Titanium, 1x Copper, and 1x Quartz.
Powering the Base
To make the newly placed Fabricator fully functional, the base requires power. This is achieved by crafting Solar Panels. Each Solar Panel requires 1x Titanium and 2x Quartz. While one panel is sufficient to start, crafting two is recommended for a more reliable power supply. Once the base has power, the Fabricator will upgrade to a Fully Functional Fabricator, enabling the creation of advanced items such as Med Kits, Copper Wire, and enhanced diving gear.
