Fibrous Pulp is a vital early-game resource in Subnautica 2, necessary for crafting Fiber, which in turn unlocks several useful items. These include essential tools like speed-boosting fins for quicker navigation and a single bed for establishing a base.
Obtaining Fibrous Pulp requires the Survival Multitool. Players must first craft this tool in their Fabricator using three units of Titanium.
Once equipped with the Survival Multitool, players can harvest Fibrous Pulp from specific flora found throughout the game world, including the starting biome. Flora known to contain Fibrous Pulp include Curtain Gorgon, Whip Gorgon, Cradle Shootroot, Macaron Sponge, and Feather Kelp. This list may expand as players continue their exploration.
These plant species are generally located in close proximity to the starting Lifepod. To harvest, players simply need to approach the flora with their Survival Multitool equipped and right-click to chop it.
Visual descriptions of the flora that yield Fibrous Pulp are as follows:
- Curtain Gorgon: Resembles a red-brown and purple cabbage, often found growing in clusters in the initial biome.
- Whip Gorgon: Appears as long, grass-like stalks with faintly purple tips, which glow at night.
- Cradle Shootroot: Features a large, glowing orange ball encased in blue tendrils. The orange ball, a Lucifer Rotsac, can also be collected separately.
- Macaron Sponge: A white, tongue-shaped flora with a pink, rippled top.
- Feather Kelp: A wispy plant with red and orange coloration.
With Fibrous Pulp secured, players can proceed to craft essential items, facilitating further exploration and survival in Subnautica 2's aquatic environment.
