Players venturing into The Blood of Dawnwalker can find numerous powerful weapons early on, allowing for frequent upgrades as they progress. While a strategy of constantly swapping loot is viable, focusing on specific early-game armaments can significantly enhance the initial hours. Beyond found weapons, blacksmiths offer purchasable arms and upgrades during the daytime cycle, though acquiring them through exploration avoids spending valuable currency.
Exquisite Greatsword
The Exquisite Greatsword is a solid choice for the early stages of the game and is conveniently located near the starting area of Laslea Glen. To acquire it, players must travel south to the Ancient Circle: Northern Swamps. This area is accessible only during the day and requires the use of the Astral Communion Witchcraft Ability to activate. Upon activation, players will face a group of undead enemies, one of whom will drop the Mercurial Favour Manual, a sum of silver, and the Exquisite Greatsword.
Burnished Battlesword
Further into the game, the Burnished Battlesword can be obtained by completing one of Ambrus's Collectors quests, specifically "Wetland Helpers." This quest culminates in a mini-boss battle against an enemy named The Bloodletter. Defeating this foe and looting their body rewards players with Blood Leeches, the Adrenaline Rush Manual, and the Burnished Battlesword, a level 22 Epic Greatsword. Completing this quest early also yields a Phial of Bakir's Blood, which unlocks the Shadowstorm ability in the Vampirism skill tree and significantly increases corruption.
Durandal
A Legendary sword named Durandal can be found shortly after arriving in Svartrau City. This weapon is part of Knyaz Skender's lost treasures. To begin the quest for Durandal, players should speak with the Innkeeper in the Tavern near the market in Svartrau City. The Innkeeper will share information about Skender's men who fell into a chasm along with their forgotten riches. This leads to the quest "The Cursed Chasm," where players must journey to a broken bridge east of Briars Slough. After navigating the chasm and defeating the Echoes and wolves present, players can loot the treasures, including the Durandal.
The Kingslayer
Acquiring The Kingslayer is tied to the "Forge it Anew" questline, which also leads to the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai. Specifically, players will find The Kingslayer during the "Forge it Anew: Executive Order" stage of the sword shard hunt. This part of the quest involves locating a ransacked kobold nest, where soldiers have taken the sword shard to their outpost, marked on the map. At this outpost, players must defeat numerous guards, with one particularly strong opponent dropping The Kingslayer, a level 21 Legendary Greatsword.
Imbued Sword of St. Mihai
The true reward of the "Forge it Anew" quest is the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai. After collecting all three sword shards and locating the uriashi blacksmith, players can assemble the Sword of St. Mihai. The blacksmith will then inform the player that the sword can be further enhanced. This requires venturing into a forest cave where the sword can be placed in a glowing red orb after overcoming a challenge. This process creates the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai, a Level 21 Greatsword that provides stat boosts to Swordmastery Ability Cooldown, Weapon Critical Hit Chance, Weapon Critical Hit Damage, and Damage against Supernatural Enemies.
