The Blood of Dawnwalker: Your Essential Guide to Saving Your Family

Saving your family in The Blood of Dawnwalker within the 30-day time limit presents a significant challenge, complicated by the game's emphasis on player choice and consequence. Failure can stem from running out of time or making detrimental decisions that may not become apparent until late in the playthrough. This guide details the optimal route to maximize your chances of success.

Before embarking on the main path, ensure you have completed the prologue quest order and gathered the necessary herbs for Esme's medicine to guarantee Coen's mother's survival. The following outline provides a step-by-step approach to the best route walkthrough.

Early Game Progression

To successfully navigate the initial stages, prioritize clearing watchtowers and shrines during nighttime and daytime exploration respectively to reveal map icons and establish fast travel points. Concurrently, focus on increasing your infamy, a crucial mechanic for gaining experience in the early days. A dedicated guide for increasing infamy offers detailed strategies for this. Your infamy level is key to unlocking subsequent quests and opportunities.

Key Quests and Confrontations

Upon completing the prologue, immediately tackle "The Firebrand" quest. Following your meeting with Mert in this quest, "Shadow in the Woods" becomes available. Prioritize this to save Sara and subsequently meet the Manumits. To initiate "Where Loyalty Lies," your infamy must reach the "Notorious" rank, achievable by diligently clearing encampments and engaging in quests related to Brencis's Court.

Confronting Ambrus can be done early on. As your infamy grows, Ambrus will inevitably be provoked, leading to a confrontation that significantly opens up the game's narrative and rewards you with one of the game's best armor pieces. Crucially, opt for a clean kill rather than consuming Ambrus's blood. Looting his body will yield a note that initiates "A Friend Like This."

Following Anca's questline, which consists of four parts: "Echoes of Silenced Bells," "Between the Words," "Where Old Devils Lie," and "Stronger Than Achilles," provides substantial rewards and connects to other pivotal quests.

Svartrau City and Mid-Game Objectives

Svartrau City serves as the central hub for the latter half of Vale Sangora. This extensive location is brimming with quests that mark the midpoint of the main story. Here, you will need to reunite with the Manumits by completing "Where Loyalty Lies," "What Hunts the Night," "What Moves the Dead," and "Who Pulls the Strings." While "Rise At Dawn" becomes available, it is a point of no return and should be left for later.

Locate Lacra to begin her questline, which includes "Song of the Mountain," "Hive and Seek," "Rotten Roots," and "Night of Horrors." Similarly, ignore "Midnight Reckoning" for the time being, as it also leads to an ending. Find Vicho northwest of The Cathedral Complex and engage in his questline starting with "A Study In Crimson." Completing "The Good Samaritan" and "Unquenchable Thirst" is optional, but ensure Vicho survives if you undertake them.

Meeting Father Florin at the cathedral initiates "In the Name of the Father." Choose to assist him in the hideout via "A Hero's End" to access another potential ending route. Continue to raise your infamy to confront Bakir, who will eventually become angered, granting access to his quest. Similar to Ambrus, choose a clean kill over consuming Bakir's blood and loot his body.

Late Game and Final Confrontation

As you progress further south in Valen Sangora, confront Xanthe's operations until she becomes hostile. Pursue her quest to trigger the confrontation. While there are options to kill or spare Xanthe, sparing her during "Cycle of Love" can simplify the final mission by skipping enemies and a puzzle.

Maximize your infamy to its fullest by consistently disrupting Brencis's Court operations; this unlocks another ending route. Ignore "A Deal with the Devil," which Brencis offers upon reaching maximum infamy, as it is another point of no return.

Acquire the Enhanced Armor of the Arbiter set for the final confrontation. Additionally, pursue the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai, obtained after completing Anca's "Echoes of Silenced Bells" quest and subsequent quests "A Monk and a Saint" and "Forge It Anew." Given that quest rewards scale with your level, it's advisable to pursue this gear late in the story.

If time is a constraint, completing all Sanzhani quests, starting with "Good Home" (accessible if you have the Arbiter armor set), can grant an extra in-game day. If you have spare time, further exploration and skill development are recommended.

Ensure "The Night of Horrors" is completed so Lacra can feed off the mandrake. Before initiating the final confrontation against Brencis, perform a manual save. To meet the 30-day deadline for Lacra's ending route, begin "Midnight Reckoning" before the 30-day mark. During the confrontation, refuse Brencis's offer to betray Lacra and choose to fight instead. After defeating Brencis and saving your family, you will proceed to the epilogue. Note that Lunka's fate is immutable; Vicho will be present to watch over her in the cave if his questlines were followed.

Upon successful completion of this route, you will earn the "In the Nick of Time," "The Patricide," and "The Blood of Dawnwalker" achievements. Reload your manual save to explore alternative endings. This walkthrough prioritizes saving your family; other choices can lead to different outcomes. Consult the guides hub for further tips and insights into The Blood of Dawnwalker.
