Obtaining Loof Horns
Loof Horns are a rare drop from Granloof creatures. These formidable foes can be encountered in the Eastell Peninsula, the game's third major island. Early encounters with Granloofs have been noted in the grasslands south of the Flight Pillar in Eastell Peninsula. They can also be found near the Altar of Vyr in the Vyrs region, situated above the Froblin Camp and south of Mirella's Shop.
Granloofs are challenging opponents, often accompanied by Lamloofs. They possess powerful charge attacks and can unleash wide-ranging rock projectiles. It is advisable to be at least Level 20 with a robust weapon before engaging them, and it's recommended to clear out any surrounding Lamloofs first to avoid being overwhelmed. Players have successfully defeated Granloofs at lower levels, such as Level 15, by bringing abundant healing items and establishing a nearby Hearth for quick respawns. Notably, respawning does not appear to reset the Granloof's health, allowing for a strategic, albeit desperate, approach.
Harvesting Fine Wood
Fine Wood is a key component for crafting and upgrades, sourced from large oak trees in Witchspire. These trees are identifiable by their significantly wider trunks compared to other trees. To harvest Fine Wood, players first need to craft a Logging Sickle at a Workbench, which requires 1x Wood, 5x Stone, and 5x Spirit Dust.
An upgraded tool, the Spirit Logging Sickle, can be unlocked from the Luminary once Hearth Level 2 and Logging Skill Level 5 are achieved. This enhanced sickle utilizes spirits to automate the wood harvesting process, making it more efficient. Players can find oak trees by flying their Broom in the starting Vyrs region, looking for tall trees with broad trunks. The Witchspire Tower area is also a productive location, as it yields multiple resources including oak trees, Spirit Dust from Pheomina Familiars, Verdantblooms, and Iron Ore.
Gathering Alder Wood
Alder Wood is another essential material, particularly for crafting the Alderwood Wand Shaft for new wands and the high-level Piercing Logging Sickle. This specific wood is harvested from large white trees with purple leaves. These trees are easily distinguished by their size and coloration, and can often be found in areas marked with a deep purple hue on the map.
A recommended farming spot for Alder Wood is R'hyrrgar's Peak in Eastella, within the Mira Isles. Players should use the Spirit Logging Sickle to gather Alder Wood from these trees. It is beneficial to establish a Hearth near clusters of these trees to facilitate easy access and material storage, potentially placing chests nearby for convenience.
