A custom PC build on Reddit showcases a striking aesthetic, incorporating a vintage Primus blowtorch as a reservoir and a full copper water-cooling loop. The creator, known as Old-Mate-Fetus on r/pcmasterrace, has intentionally designed the machine to develop a patina over time.
The build features an Alphacool Core RX 9070 XT GPU cooling block and a Heatkiller IV CPU block, both contributing to the extensive copper water-cooling system. The motherboard is a Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite, paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and 32GB of Klevv DDR5-6000 RAM. Powering the system is a custom-sleeved Corsair 850W SFX PSU, and cooling is managed by Noctua Industrial 120mm fans.
The most distinctive element is the reservoir, repurposed from an old Primus blowtorch and fitted with a sight gauge. This unique modification, coupled with the copper components and a custom wooden case, gives the PC a steampunk-inspired, industrial look. The builder noted that the entire assembly weighs close to 20 kg.
Old-Mate-Fetus expressed a preference for the aging appearance of copper, stating they intend to "just let it tarnish over time" as they "quite like the look." This approach sets the build apart from many custom water-cooled PCs that prioritize a pristine, polished finish. The user shared that the machine is used for gaming, with a glimpse of Overwatch visible on screen.
