Gigabyte's GO27Q24A aims to deliver a focused gaming monitor experience by omitting some of the more expensive, less universally needed technologies found in premium models. This 27-inch, 1440p display utilizes a Samsung QD-OLED panel, promising vibrant colors and rapid response times.

Assembly of the GO27Q24A is straightforward, with the monitor stem clipping to the screen and the stand attaching via a single thumbscrew. The included stand is a solid, compact unit that allows for significant ergonomic adjustment, offering -5° to +21° tilt, ±15° swivel, 90° pivot, and 13cm of height adjustment. The monitor comes with a cable-tidy clip and a DisplayPort cable. Connectivity is limited to two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5mm audio jack, omitting USB-C and KVM functionality, reflecting its cost-saving approach.

The 27-inch QD-OLED panel offers a 2560 x 1440 resolution. While it provides ample screen real estate for productivity, the text clarity is described as slightly less sharp than ideal for extended office work due to a semi-gloss, anti-reflective coating that, while effective in some conditions, can still produce reflections in bright environments or when displaying dark content. The panel boasts a rapid 0.03ms pixel response time and a 1:1,500,000 contrast ratio. It also covers 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. A notable characteristic is its peak fullscreen brightness of 200 nits, with a peak HDR brightness of 400 nits. This is lower than many competing high-end gaming monitors, a decision likely contributing to its more accessible price.

In gaming scenarios, the GO27Q24A performs strongly. Contrast is excellent, colors are vibrant, and HDR transitions are smooth. The lower peak brightness ensures HDR can be used without causing eye strain, and it balances bright and dark areas effectively, revealing details in shadows though sometimes losing them in bright highlights. The monitor supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium for tear-free gaming, with variable refresh rate (VRR) support. Gigabyte also plans to introduce black-frame insertion via a future firmware update.

Gigabyte has integrated several gaming-centric features, accessible via a joystick button on the rear of the screen. These include AI Black Equalizer to brighten dark areas, Super Resolution to enhance details, and Night Vision for a green-tinted view. Game Info features, such as an on-screen timer and customizable crosshairs, are also present. The 'Eagle Eye' feature, which magnifies the center of the screen, is noted as a potentially significant advantage.

A 'Tactical Switch' below the joystick allows for quick changes to common competitive resolutions like 1920x1080 (16:9), 1280x960 (4:3), 1024x768 (4:3), or 1280x1024 (5:4), simulating a display size reduction for esports players. This function works seamlessly, though it does not increase the refresh rate. The monitor also includes an OLED Care technology suite for pixel cleaning and burn-in prevention, complemented by a fan-less cooling system, graphene film layer, and a three-year warranty that covers burn-in.

While the Gigabyte GO27Q24A may lack some of the extreme brightness or advanced connectivity of more expensive monitors, its core gaming performance, including color vibrancy, contrast, and speed, is excellent. Its RRP of $450 is competitive, and it was even available at a launch price of $299. Despite the strong value proposition, the Alienware AW2726DM, which uses the same QD-OLED panel, is noted as being a competitor that is available at a lower price point.
