Amidst fluctuating graphics card prices, the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 GRE has emerged as a notable exception, available for $500 at Newegg. This price point places it below its launch MSRP and notably undercuts most other latest-generation cards. To achieve this price, customers must apply a $50 promo code at checkout.

The RX 9070 GRE demonstrates competitive performance, positioning itself as a strong contender in the mid-range segment. In testing, it surpassed the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti across various titles and resolutions. At 1080p, the card averaged 90 FPS in Black Myth Wukong, 63 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 (RT Ultra), and 123 FPS in F1 24, with one percent lows remaining robust.

Performance scales effectively into higher resolutions. At 1440p, the RX 9070 GRE delivered 62 FPS in Black Myth Wukong, 38 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 (RT Ultra), and 81 FPS in F1 24. Even at 4K, the card achieved playable frame rates in some titles, including 33 FPS in Black Myth Wukong and 33 FPS in F1 24, though more demanding ray-traced scenarios like Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K RT Ultra yielded around 10 FPS.

From a technical standpoint, the RX 9070 GRE leverages AMD's RDNA 4 architecture, providing native support for FSR 4.1. This upscaling and frame generation technology is considered a significant improvement over FSR 3, although it is not quite on par with DLSS 4.5. The card's power consumption is relatively modest, typically drawing around 250W, and requires only two PCIe power connectors. This efficiency contributes to less heat generation, making it a more manageable component for many gaming setups.
