Sony has announced an indefinite delay for its new PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, a decision made just days before their scheduled global launch on November 12. The company cited a recently identified "production issue" discovered during ongoing quality testing as the reason for the postponement.
In an update to the original PlayStation Blog post announcing the speakers, Sony stated that the additional time will be used to "ensure the product will deliver the experience we intended for our players." No new release date has been provided.
The Pulse Elevate speakers were first revealed in September 2025 as part of Sony's expanded audio accessory line, which already includes the Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. Priced at $219.99, these speakers are designed for desktop gaming and can connect to PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, and PlayStation Portal devices via PlayStation Link. They also support simultaneous Bluetooth pairing with phones. A built-in microphone with "AI-enhanced noise rejection" is integrated into the right speaker.
Sony noted that the Midnight Black colorway was intended for a worldwide release, while a White version was slated for select countries. The exact number of units manufactured prior to the delay and the impact on any existing pre-orders remain unclear.
