Valve has announced pricing and reservation details for its upcoming VR headset, the Steam Frame. The device will be available in two configurations, with the base 256GB model priced at $1,059 and a 1TB version costing $1,299.

Both Steam Frame models come equipped with 16GB of unified LPDDR5X RAM, a 4 nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 - ARM64 processor, and two Steam Frame Controllers. Purchasers of either model will also receive a copy of Half-Life: Alyx.

Reservations for the Steam Frame are open now and will close on Thursday, September 17, at 1:00 PM EDT. Valve will randomly select users from the reservation pool to receive emails allowing them to purchase the headset as inventory becomes available, with the first purchase emails expected to go out on September 18. Those not selected initially will be placed on a waitlist and notified if they are moved to the reservation queue.

The Steam Frame's pricing places it at a similar cost to Valve's previously released Steam Machine gaming PC.
