Viture has officially unveiled its new Pro 2 Extended Reality (XR) glasses, designed to offer a comfortable and technically capable option for gamers. Priced at $299, these glasses prioritize a lightweight and thin design, aiming for ergonomics suitable for extended use and travel.
To enhance comfort, the Pro 2 comes with three sizes of nose pads offering seven adjustment positions, a detachable shade to block ambient light, and an included travel case. Internally, the glasses can display 1080p resolution at 120Hz. They feature Sony micro-OLED lenses capable of reaching 1,600 nits of peak brightness. A key technological advancement is UltraClarity 3.0, utilizing new Birdbath optics to deliver a sharp visual experience. Viture states these lenses are tuned to reduce eye strain and provide a consistent 50-degree field of view.
Addressing a common issue with previous Viture XR models, the Pro 2's advanced optics reportedly reduce chromatic aberration, a distortion that can cause blurriness around the edges of the image. The design allows the eyes to naturally shift focus from the center to the edges of the picture. For users who wear prescription glasses, the Pro 2 includes built-in, adjustable diopters.
Alongside the Pro 2 glasses, Viture also announced the Mobile Mini Dock. This smaller accessory, priced at $99, is compatible with all Viture XR glasses and offers two modes. "Hub Mode" enables a connection with consoles like the Nintendo Switch 2, allowing gameplay to be viewed through XR glasses. "Solo Mode" transforms the dock into a standard USB-C hub. For Switch 2 users, the Mobile Dock Mini can be magnetically attached to the handheld console.
Both the Viture Pro 2 glasses and the Mobile Mini Dock are scheduled for release on August 6.
