The critically acclaimed horror film Barbarian is set to receive its first-ever 4K Blu-ray release with a Limited Edition Steelbook, now available for preorder. The collector's edition is slated to arrive on August 11 and can be preordered from retailers including Amazon and Walmart.
This Limited Edition Steelbook features distinctive cover art depicting the film's monster and the unsettling house central to its plot. The reverse side includes cast and production details. Inside the case, an illustration of the Mother's hand and protagonist Tess can be found. The two-disc set includes the film in both regular Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD formats, both equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Audio support. The release also contains a selection of bonus features, offering insight into the making of the horror-comedy. These extras include an audio commentary from director Zach Cregger and producer Roy Lee, as well as deleted scenes.
Barbarian marked Zach Cregger's directorial debut in the horror genre. The film follows Tess, who travels to Detroit for a job interview and discovers her Airbnb has been double-booked by Keith. What begins as a tense situation quickly escalates into a terrifying fight for survival, blending scares, dark humor, and unexpected twists.
Cregger has since gone on to direct the upcoming film "Weapons," which is scheduled for release on September 18.
