Grand Theft Auto 6 players who have preordered the game will be able to begin downloading their copy on November 12, according to Rockstar Games. This preload window allows players to have the game fully installed and ready to play on November 19, the official release date, for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
This preload availability applies to both digital purchases and physical editions. While physical copies will arrive in a box, they will not contain a disc. Instead, these boxes will ship on November 12 and contain a code for digital download. Players will need to enter this code to download the game.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is available in two editions: the standard edition for $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition for $99.99. The Ultimate Edition has proven to be the more popular choice among consumers. It is worth noting that there is no physical version of the Ultimate Edition; however, an "Ultimate Edition Upgrade" can be purchased digitally for $20 on the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store.
All preorders for Grand Theft Auto 6 include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. The Vintage Vice City Pack features the classic '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, vintage outfits and hairstyles for protagonists Jason and Lucia, and an exclusive weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti. The pack is included with all digital purchases made before November 20, 2026. Players should be aware that the GTA+ subscription auto-renews and should set a reminder to cancel if they do not wish to continue the service.
The Ultimate Edition bundles the base game with a significant amount of additional digital content. This includes the ’95 Grotti Cheetah sports car, Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers with Vice City stylings, personalized weapon variants for Jason's Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia's Klose K17 pistol, and various Vice City-themed outfits, hairstyles, and tattoos for both characters. The Ultimate Edition also unlocks exclusive vehicles like Jason’s Safhouse vehicles (Dinka Enduro motorcycle and Crest Kayak) and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy. Exclusive in-game activities and locations are also part of the Ultimate Edition, including access to Rideout Customs for vehicle customization, Sara's Unisex Salon for character styling, Stock 305 for streetwear, Electric Fang Tattoo for unique tattoos, and One-Eyed Willie’s for specialized off-road modifications.
Further Ultimate Edition content includes access to the Ganado Retro Build for a customized Vapid Ganado low-riding pickup, the Shitzu Squalo boat for fishing, and a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with its own garage. Players will also unlock the "Goodtime Gear" collection and the PTT Younin$ Compound, alongside a special commission from Wyman to find and restore classic cars. Special destinations available only with the Ultimate Edition include Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, and One-Eyed Willie’s, offering unique customization and cosmetic options.
