The limited-edition Marvel's Wolverine DualSense Wireless Controller, designed to commemorate Insomniac Games' upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive, remains available for preorder. While some retailers have already seen their stock depleted, the controller can still be secured at several outlets.
This custom controller carries a price tag of $89.99 and is scheduled to release on September 15, coinciding with the game's launch. Functionally identical to a standard DualSense controller, its appeal lies in its unique aesthetic. The design prominently features three vibrant yellow claw marks slashed across the black face of the controller, evoking Wolverine's signature combat style. Additional design elements include yellow accents on the face buttons and D-pad, as well as gray scuff marks on the grips, intended to simulate battle damage.
Two variations of the controller were produced: the "Battle Yellow" model, characterized by its bold coloration, and an "Adamantium" white version. The latter featured a similar scuffed and clawed design with metallic white accents. However, the "Adamantium" white controller was a PlayStation Direct exclusive and has since sold out. The "Battle Yellow" variant is the one currently available at most retailers.
Complementary console covers designed to match both controller variations were also released. While some of these covers have also sold out, the "Battle Yellow" PS5 slim console cover is reportedly still in stock at PlayStation Direct. Given the popularity of these items, particularly among IGN readers, interested consumers are advised to secure their preorders promptly.
Marvel's Wolverine is the latest title from Insomniac Studios, following their success with the Marvel's Spider-Man series. The game is anticipated to be a significant release for the PlayStation 5 this fall.
