Capcom's acclaimed action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 5th, it was announced during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation. This release will include all previously released free downloadable content, ensuring players have access to a comprehensive experience from day one.

The Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will also feature local co-operative play, a returning feature that allows players to team up with friends in person for hunts, reminiscent of earlier entries in the series.

Accompanying the Switch 2 announcement, the trailer also provided a reminder of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascension, the game's first major expansion. Ascension is slated for release next year and promises to introduce a new hunting region, additional story quests, and new monsters to challenge players.

Monster Hunter Wilds has been a critical success, with Eurogamer describing it in a previous review as "The most exhilarating and refined Monster Hunter yet." The game has continued to receive updates and improvements since its initial launch, suggesting the Switch 2 port will offer a polished experience for new and returning players alike.
