Nintendo has opened pre-orders for the electric ocarina accessory for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, following a notable absence during the game's official gameplay reveal. The accessory, priced at $49.99, is set to release on November 5, one week after the game itself launches.

While optional, the ocarina is designed to enhance the player's immersion by allowing Link to mimic songs played in real life within the game. It features a 'Free Play' mode and an 'Auto-Play' function with 12 pre-programmed songs. The accessory integrates with the game's Zelda Notes app, enabling players to save and share custom songs via QR codes. It also includes a headphone jack for audio output and comes with a display stand for when not in use.

It is important to note that the ocarina is not a fully functional musical instrument; players activate notes by pressing a mouthpiece button rather than blowing into it. Despite this, the accessory is expected to be a popular item, particularly as other related pre-order bonuses, such as the Pro Controller and carrying case, have been selling out quickly.

Switch 2 Console Pre-Order Availability

Pre-orders for the 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console, themed around The Legend of Zelda, continue to be difficult for many fans to secure. While Nintendo has stated that pre-orders will remain available over time and recent waves have not sold out instantaneously, major online retailers like Amazon and Target are experiencing rapid sell-outs. Additionally, some retailers, such as GameStop, have informed store managers that individual locations will not be taking console pre-orders at this time.
