Preordering the physical edition of the co-op puzzle-adventure game Orbitals for Nintendo Switch 2 at Walmart will save customers $10, bringing the price down to $39.88. This discount matches the digital version's price on the Nintendo eShop and is expected to last only until the game's launch on September 3.
Orbitals is an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch 2, featuring a two-player cooperative experience. Players take on the roles of space-faring explorers Maki and Omura as they journey beyond a cosmic storm to protect their home space station. The game boasts a distinct visual style inspired by anime from the 1980s and 1990s.
Developed as a co-op-only title, Orbitals requires a second player, similar to games like It Takes Two. It supports both local split-screen play and online multiplayer. Notably, the game features a Global Friend's Pass system, allowing a friend to play online even if they do not own a copy of the game, provided the host does. This feature means only one copy of the game is needed for two players in online sessions.
This discount comes amidst a recent pricing shift for Nintendo Switch 2 games, where physical editions have typically cost $10 more than their digital counterparts on the eShop. Retailers like Walmart and Amazon have frequently offered discounts on physical versions, effectively negating this price difference. Amazon has already sold out of its preorders for Orbitals.
