Grinding Gear Games has announced that Path of Exile 2 will officially launch out of early access on December 11. The action role-playing sequel will be available as a free-to-play title on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
A new gameplay trailer debuted during Gamescom Opening Night Live, offering a glimpse into the game's narrative and showcasing its accelerated combat pace compared to its predecessor. Path of Exile 2 will feature extensive class customization options, including hundreds of active and passive skill gems, with a significant focus on endgame content. This endgame is expected to comprise over 100 maps and challenging boss encounters.
Path of Exile 2 entered early access in December 2024. While participation in these early builds required a purchase, the full launch will transition the game to a free-to-play model, aligning with the business strategy of the original Path of Exile.
